Scotty Hopson

On Catspause they're back to saying Billy G is speaking at length with his mom.

Hopefully we can get him in for an official visit during a home game. Cotton, do you by any chance know when UHA's season will end or near its end?

That would be something. He would also get to meet Grunfeld and hopefully King if he is there too again.

That'd be great. Word is that Bernard will be there, especially since Ernie came when he had his # retired last season. The atmosphere for that game will be electric, the loss to UK earlier will really make TBA crazy.

The last regular season game is 2/21 against Warren Central at Home; the District Tournament begins the following week, the Region after that, and the KHSAA state tournament is 3/19-3/22 in Lexington.

" Great player but I dont want him to begin with. Hate to say bad things about (18) year old but he is all about him that was pretty clear at the "ALL A" Classic here in Richmond. I work for the newspaper here and talk with the sports editor here and the kid showed no class. He should fit in well at UT or Cincy. His selfishness and conceded life approach would only set sour in this organization. I would rather have a guy that is more about the team than his future as a NBA player. If it was up to me I would say take him to Knoxville today!"

love this post, this KY fan "works" at a newspaper and cant spell conceited

Funny that UK fans consider players on our team selfish and unclassy since we lead the nation in assists.

Wow thats pretty late or at least later than I thought. I remember in Florida playing in the region finals two straight years and that was the last week or Feb and first week of March followed by the state the next week. i was hoping his season would be wrapped up so that we could get him in for a visit during a game. I doubt we'd get him in while the playoffs are going on.

That is typically when our tournaments are. It can move a week from year to year because they alternate with the girls as to who plays the state tournament first, but the three rounds always take up most of March. I believe most states around us are on roughly the same schedule.

Cotton....where are you from?

Hopkinsville

i love the talk around Scotty Hopson, and if we land him i think we are sure to land a recruit named Verdell Jones, who i go to high school with. But if Hopson goes elsewhere, I think Verdell might go to Kentucky...is there anything i should use to Convince him to choose UT, if Scotty isnt there next year?

UT is a better school for academics and Gillespie has some, well character issues. UT is also much prettier and we are a team on the rise. Also, there are a lot of dilusional, complete idiot UK fans.

Awesome! I'm just down the road here in Lyon Co! Kuttawa Actually. Did you go to hoopfest?

No--I watched the Oak Hill game on ESPN, though, and there is a link to the UHA game somewhere back in this thread. I know the lake area pretty well, although getting back to the Hopson discussion, UHA hasn't been particularly popular there, especially in Lyon Co. Too many disappointments for the Lions in the Class A, I think.

I'd try $10,000.00

Correct. I'm originally from Marshall County. I just moved here this year. I played baseball, football (unti acl tear) and basketball my freshman year at MCHS. To political for me . I know Trigg Co used to have a great team. I actually am good friends with Bill Chumbler who coached Tilghman, he's my fishing buddy. You ever heard of J.R. or Anthony Mayes?

I was at the Oak Hill game and at the UHA games. Pearl was there as well. I got to meet him seemed like a nice guy. I asked him if he was here for Scotty he just winked and said We'll find out soon won't we! The word through the Gym was Pearl was there for Scotty and that is prob where he was going to go, but you know that was 5 months ago.

he was named to the west team of the Mcdonald's high school american game.

I also noticed that he was listed on ESPN as "undecided" and not an MSU commit. It doesn't really mean anything, but I thought it was interesting.

No, but it sounds like I'm a bit older than you; I graduated from UHA in 1992. I did spend a good part of the summers of my youth on Johnathon Creek, though.

Rivals does not have KY listed anymore as one of his possible choices. I don't know how accurate that is, but it definitely read well.

Last night, Scotty Hopson was named to the McDonalds All American game! Please come to UT Scotty!
