I'm seeing several draft guys who are pretty high on Cam.

Think he's gone, but good for him. Go make that money.

Question:

Do you think Tennessee might need that exposure of a round 1 pick this year than a Senior Cam? Recruiting-context.

It wouldn't help much with the 2016 class since the draft follows NSD but moving forward it would. This should be the last year for a long time without a drafted Vol.

Me: I want a Senior Cam at the expense of a two-year draft lull.

Top Juco QB signs with Virginia Tech.

I'm kinda glad the game has a little more national interest. As it were prior to Beamer retiring, it was looking like a dud. Should be a fun game.

I expect a 2012 NC-State type win. Close all score but Tennessee in complete control from kickoff to final whistle.

Jones resume is hurting right now with the draft angle. Sutton would help a lot if 1st round

So he made a mistake and thought he had one more year, but when he discovered he was wrong he should keep dragging the team down just for pride's sake?

And team allegiance has literally 0 to do with whether someone's actions are acceptable or not.

And yes, you do have to experience that level of elite discipline to have an informed opinion on whether someone should walk away immediately or not. If Butch's body and mind were preventing my team from being successful, I'd prefer he step down immediately.

If we're that worried about having informed opinions before stating our own opinions, this board needs to shut down right now.

I can see it both ways as far as running out of steam mid-season, but mistakes are criticized in sports. I'm not sure why this one would be exempt.

I just think a coach should be less wishy-washy. Be sure you've got it for at least a season before you keep going. I'm not calling the man a devil (at least not for this :) ).

He didn't even think that he had one more year. He wanted to retire after last year, but the admin. begged him to come back. Then after they struggled at the beginning of the year, the same people who begged him to come back were criticizing him. He got pissed and decided to retire. Anyone who thinks he is just a quitter is an idiot.

Then he shouldn't have been persuaded. Coaches need to be more sure of decisions like that. Getting pissed at admin or fans is no reason to quit, mid-season on your players.

Again, this is my opinion, and you're welcome to yours. I'm not sure why I need to be called an idiot in this case. Other reasons, sure, but I think I've got a case here. :)

It's all good guys. :)

No. I think a playoff run would help more than a first round Cam. Cam would certainly help us make that run. Despite that, I want whatever's best for Cam and his family. Selfishly though, I'll be happier if he returns.

Link?

The highest I have seen Cam is mid to late second round. Hes by most accounts that I have seen around 6-10th best CB prospect for this draft.

McShay
Matt Miller
Jon Ledyard

I don't know if he's 1st Rd IMO, but there's at least a few guys I've seen that are that high on him.

Yea it's always conflicting. A lock-down corner is a precious commodity. It may be another 10 years before we get one on his level. He's the consummate pro. A tactician.

Member of his first class are true juniors. I'm not sure that reflects on him yet. He had draftees at lower stops as well.

It doesn't but I would make large bet that other programs are recruiting against us showing our poor draft results and saying we don't run a NFL friendly style

Its basically a win-win with Cam and JRM. They go in the draft, we break our streak of not having guys drafted plus they get to provide for their families. They stay, we are that much better.
