Haven't our classes been ranked ahead of UGA?

The last 2 seasons, yes. But that is only because Butch got help from legacies. Butch can't actually recruit so expect it to really drop off into somewhere in the 70s-80s a la Vandy by the time National Signing Day comes around.

I keep reading that it has hurt us in recruiting this year the games we should have won- I get that but why do kids continue to pour into GA year in and year out and other than always having a good record- what have they really won as of late? They haven't even won the East in the last few years and haven't won the SEC in several years. Despite being loaded with talent. Why does it only hurt us?

i feel ya. They have won about as many big games lately as we have.

Bama, GA and LSU seem to be able to do it year after year.:hi:

The reality is that to compete with Bama, you have to do it every year. The fact is with two average QBs the last two years, they have won the SEC. Have to pull in big time O and D linemen every year. Let's see how we finish.

Do you know if the NCAA would make a decision before he had to declare or would he have to simply take the risk and be SOL if they deny it?

They will probably make him retake his ACT in order to apply for a 6th year of eligibility, then he will be denied the day after the NFL draft.

Well...

He knows we are very close...maybe he wants to do what he came here to do and take this program back to elite status. If he stays, I'm going out on a limb that JRM and Sutton come back.

They can't do that to someone...they would have to let them know if they will grant a 6th year before the draft. Would be beyond wrong.

Maggitt seems to meet the NCAA criteria to petition for a medical RS. Has he already completed his graduate degree or is he still pursuing it? That could be a factor.

Do we really think the NCAA has any interest in a kid's welfare, especially from UT? We're talking about an organization who suspended Crouch the year for feeding his daughter and then suspending a Bama kid a game for the same offense.

This one is as crystal clear as they come. If he wants a 6th year he is getting it

In cases such as letting the student-athlete know whether they will be granted a 6th year or not, so they can decide on declaring for the draft, absolutely! I would think there would be some kind of grounds for suing them, if they wouldn't tell the athlete his status before the deadline to declare for the draft.

Yeah, I'd hope so. Sometimes I'm cynical towards organizations that act like a government (NCAA, FIFA, etc) but don't have the same checks and balances.

I know exactly where you're coming from, and I don't trust the NCAA either, but they have to be timely with granting a 6th year for a player trying to decide on declaring for the draft or not.
