'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

This is his third full recruiting class. You're acting like his sample size is huge. Look at his 2013 class... Look at his '14 and '15 classes( many of the out of state '14 players have transferred).

I would say his '14 and '15 classes would be the anomaly because he had many different factors on his side and he could sell playing time.

Now he's been here long enough that the recruits want to see his results, and don't think other programs aren't pointing out the blown games.

Also, what was Butch's main position to coach? Seems like WR recruits would expect more out of a coach who specializes in their position.

Let me get this straight - you think '14 and '15 were anomalies, but not the class that he had to salvage in the wake of the most incompetent coach in SEC history?

So you just don't count 2 straight top 5 classes and only the current class that we can only sign 20 players? you have every excuse in the book as to why a kid came here and like none cam because of Butch....makes no sense at all. All these kids have friends at schools all over the country. It takes more than buddies to sign. You can make every excuse you want to bash Butcch but he is the reason we pulled 2 straight top 5 classes.

Rivals only counts the top 20 players when it comes to team rankings, so it doesn't matter.

You don't think high school players commit to schools because of another high school player enrolling there?
Sigh. Does it sometimes play a factor? Sure. Now that I have acknowledged that, you don't think the DK commitment had anything to do with the staff? As long as KM was going there so was DK regardless of who the coach was?

In summary, you say he left UM bc of a coaching change but based his ultimate decision on one dude he might play with (because coaches didn't matter to him). Am I missing anything?

I am not sure I undestand how people can condemn anyone for making a decision to do what he considers in his best interest. While we all may think there are no other schools than Tennessee, we are not wearing the shoes of these young men. At the same time, I am disturbed by many aspects of social media. In this context of tweeting recruits, I think Vol fans or persons who purport to be Vol fans who contact recruits with hateful messages are deplorable.

No, that guy 3,000 miles from home is going even a few more miles south to play for a guy who can win. Kongbo is interested in BAMA now.

He's not going to Bama, everyone from the beginning has said Oregon and Washington were the bigger threats. You are showing your Bama love.

Yes, how many classes in UT history have had this type of run legacy players and great instate talent? Tennessee will never consistently have instate talent like they did in '14.

Who knows for sure why he decomitted. Maybe he was told he could look at other options. As stated, Tenn is loaded with QBs for the next several years. No one knows how Jones is looking at recruiting. He may already be looking at 2017 needs. Anything can change with off field issues, grades, injuries etc. Maybe he wants that scholarship for another position of need. Obviously I'm a believer in Jones, especially recruiting. Could coaching improve? Of course, and I expect it to with more experience. I expect all coaches to improve every year, No matter how good they currently are.

Wow, didn't realize they were able to be re-recruited. You're adding so much to this conversation about this year's recruiting class...

You said who was going to replace the #1 JUCO. We are loaded at DE, he doesn't really need replacing, we already have the guys.

Absolutely false. Do some homework about the growth of football in the state of Tennessee. '14 was likely closer to the new norm. Quality football in Tennessee is on a major upswing.

Man, I give you props for persistently conveying that you have no confidence in this staff's recruiting. Fair enough.

Not sure why you follow given that, but January in each of the last 3 years gives me all the reason I need to stay tuned for January this year.

Hubbs and Fortenberry both stated Bama has got his attention right now. How would a Bama troll know all of the UT players off of the top of his head? They don't know who Darrell Taylor and Andrew Butcher are.

I don't think he's a troll, he's just desperate to win a flawed argument.

I quit reading his posts long ago and put him on ignore. He is either trolling or incredibly stupid.

He's trolling IMO. And judging by the amount of replies he's getting, he's doing pretty good.

You do realize the key classes were the past 2? Those players are who win next yes championship. This current class is a depth class. There aren't starting positions just wide open and available to sell. This class now is all about depth and development players. The positions we need high end players at we are getting. Osborne a top 100 guy at corner. JG the #1 dual threat QB in country in 247 composite and top 40 player on rivals. #1 Juco DE and and #1 Juco DT. Top OT in the state in Ryan Johnson. Lead for top OG Dickerson. Good chance we land Derek Brown and Nigel Warrior two more studs that visit last wknd before NSD. Plenty of time left before NSD. Asst Coaches will be moving all over country soon making kids look around again.

Why, why, why are so many people wasting breath (and my time) conversing with this ignorant lunatic? You will not win an argument against him because he is biased and not intelligent to understand logic. Just please stop responding to him. Thank you in advance, lol (like that will happen 😐😕😞😒).

Not sure how my argument is flawed when the recruiting class is poor, VQ has no positive earth shattering news on new recruits they are pursuing, plus HJ just decommited.

I'll tell you what, no matter the coach, some of yall will never question a coach's recruiting or coaching ability until they are fired.
