Jones said that walk-on punter Trevor Daniel has earned a scholarship

Some injured guys that were back out there: Rashaan Gaulden, Quart'e Sapp, Austin Sanders. Jennings and North, too.

Rashaan Gaulden (foot) returned to practice today. Vincent Perry and Jason Croom “ran routes” today, Jones said.

Daniel earned it a while ago. Butch talked about it on the "Butch Jones Show" the day after the Georgia game, I believe.

@TheDannyParker: #Vols Butch Jones on graduate assistant @UTCoachSheridan: "He's done a good job for us. We have to do what's best for the program."

First thing I have read that makes me think he isn't getting the job. Perhaps i am reading to much into it

I read it as he hasn't yet decided and wants to see what other options might be available.

Butch holds all the cards (re: Sheridan) so why not see what he could do. And it should make Nick feel he won a highly sought after position.

When we get the hurt players back our team will look much different in a good way. Some very talented players kept out of action this year due to injury. If we can have a healthy spring and bring most people back, sky is the limit for '16.

Couple notes:

I do not see Sheriron transferring and many in the program believe he will be a serious talent for us. He's the fastest QB on roster and has serious arm strength. This will be an interesting battle for backup qb this offseason.

Darrell Taylor is someone I've been hearing will be a player next year as a LB with opportunities to play some downs as a rush end

D Miller and Micah are progressing very nicely at CB and have gained considerable muscle weight.

We have two very talented RB's behind Hurd. Both still need time in weight room but from a depth perspective, the talent drop off will be minimal, especially when CFA is enrolled and gets in the weight room.

Griffin is coming along at safety and we should have two ball hawking safeties, which we haven't had in awhile, considering our current safeties are better run stoppers than coverage guys (although they have improved).

This team is improving at a rate that started out slow and at times felt stagnant but has now gotten to the point of rapid improvement. Butch has finally created an atmosphere and environment that breeds success. Now when new players come into the system, the acclimation process is much smoother and therefore these guys are more quickly ready to contribute on the field whereas in years past, butch had the difficult task of also acclimating the Dooley players to this system. It's only going to get better from here on out. 2016 was always the year that was circled on the trajectory map for true success, so enjoy it, because it will be the beginning of a long stretch of success for Tennessee football.

Can we say this post is the official statement of the 2016 hype train campaign?

Agree GFW, Depth will start to build here at a lot of areas.

Don't forget Drew Richmond, who has all but locked up LT. He has been very impressive at practice.

Safe to say we will have an all-NFL line next year?

Richmond/Robertson/Thomas/Jones/Hall?

Going to be hard to get wiesman out IMO

This.

I'm as excited to see Jones as the next guy, but Wiesman was our best guard by year's end. His improvement can not be understated. There's a reason he was named 2nd team All-SEC today.

Richmond/Robertson/Thomas/Wiesman/Hall IMO

That's a good front 5.

He is a man child

I have him as a starter next year. Jones takes the reigns full time as a junior, as it should be. Typically jones would have redshirted and been ready to start as a redshirt sophomore after getting good experience during a redshirt freshman year but injuries to others derailed those plans.

What are you hearing about coach changes GFW?

Any chance Jones could RS next season and Boulware be that next-man-up instead?
