Being a funny guy who gets along with his professors well has finally paid off! I could write a high quality 5 page paper in my sleep as I am-- spoiler alert going to learn about the Mock-- a journalism major who aced the English/Reading/Writing sections of the ACT and the AP English test.

We weren't exactly running over people in Pittman' s year here. North Carolina was solid in the run game, but not spectacular when he was there. Bielema running the offense they do is as responsible for the Arkansas OL as Pittman.

Our OL that was really beat up this year, playing a converted G at tackle and two FR and two SO's at times, led the way to more rushing yards than Arkansas had this year.

I'm just glad that UGA didn't hire someone that runs the spread. They would kill it with the QB's and WR's Georgia high schools are putting out now.

With Pittman here we gave up like 4 sacks total. Pretty sure we were #1 in the country in pass blocking

And then he was the OL coach at Arky where they had a very good rushing attack

He is obviously a tier 1 assistant in my opinion

Pittman had an All-NFL OL to work with here. 8 sacks given up in 2012 and 15 in 2013 with the same guys under Mahoney, but Bray threw the ball away at the slightest hint of pressure and Worley/Peterman/Dobbs held it too long in 2013. We also rushed for more yards in 2013 than 2012.

"While at Purdue, Chaney, along with head coach Joe Tiller, became known for using the spread offense – famously dubbed "basketball on grass" – at a time when it was still considered a novelty and not commonly used. The system relied on a strong passing game and Chaney's offense was one of the most potent in the country.[4] This was evidenced by the fact that future Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees (starting QB 1997-2000) thrived in Chaney's offense and went on to break and set college, Big Ten and NCAA records.[5]

When Urban Meyer took his first coaching job at Bowling Green, he sought advice from several of the best coaches using the spread offense, including Jim Chaney.[5] After spending a few years in the NFL Chaney gained a newfound appreciation for the pro-style offense.[6] When Chaney came to Tennessee he and Kiffin fielded a very pro-style offense, very similar to what Kiffin used at USC. I don't think Smart will have him running the spread like they did at Purdue. I'm pretty sure he is hiring him for the offense that was run at Tennessee, Arkansas, and Pitt.

That all NFL OL was dreadful run blocking before he got here. It's the reason he was hired...to fix it. I think he should get a lot of credit for improving them and fixing it.

And yes, with almost everyone on the OL back that year including the RBs in what I would consider a much better running scheme under CBJ, we increased our rushing average by .2

In 2011 before Pittman was hired we rushed for a 2.8 yd average

He got here and we rushed for 4.5

That is what I remember most

Yeah? I donated money to his sick daughter that I never met. Then, the first time I say something addressed specifically to him I wish her well. I'm sorry you couldn't get that I was being cordial before I expressed that it's getting really old reading his Bruin bashing. It's not just him, but his post happened to finally break me. Enjoy the winter, heard it's nice where you live.

Typical VN. When they're UT coaches we don't want them, they're bums. When someone else hires them, it's cause for concern, since they're such amazing coaches.

Last I checked UT's OL, running game and offense put up some pretty impressive numbers this season and won more games at UT than Chaney or Pittman ever did. Sure, they're good coaches but so what? We also have good coaches.

Eff UGA and their entire coaching staff, we whooped their asses in '15 and I expect to do the same next year and many more years after. Butch is building a monster in Knoxville. Recruiting is the most important thing in CFB and Butch is elite in that area.

I can't see how some of you are so scared of the competition. I say UGA, UF, Bama, USC and the rest better bring their A game the next few years if they want to have a chance of beating Butch's Vols.
