The east will again come down to Florida vs Tennessee.

Georgia will have a healthy Nick Chubb, but they'll be bringing in a whole new offensive and defensive system and who knows who will the QB? Is it Bauta? Is it Lambert? Does Eason stick with GA? Too many question marks.

Treon Harris may lose his spot to Franks, or If Florida picks up Eason, he may be the starter as a Freshman.

I thought Bauta was going to transfer.

Georgia has to replace a few OL and Malcom Mitchell too. On defense they lose 6 of their front 7. If they don't get Eason they are screwed because they will be starting Lambert again, but who knows if Eason will even be good as a freshman. Buck Belue said on ATL radio a few months ago that he had some high school coaches in GA tell him that of Eason was playing high school football in the South he wouldn't be rated nearly as high because the competition he is playing now is terrible.

These nightmares being so prevalent shows just how extremely stressful college is. It's a somewhat worrisome trend.

I'm 40 and still have a similar dream that I'm back in college and have a test coming up for a class that i have not read a single thing or gone to class.

In defense of Bruin, he was actually talking football and it was about something of interest.

I'd rather read that than the bellyaching by the "I hate Bruin" club.

It's amazing that we barely lose anyone for the second year in a row.

Out of the two-deep on offense:

Kerbyson
Pearson
Jonathan Johnson
Crowder
Ellis

Two deep on defense:

Williams
McNeil
Randolph

Special teams:

Giampapa
Ashford

Possible NFL entrants:

Sutton
JRM

And we will still have a relatively small number of seniors next year:

North
Croom (RS)
Wiesman
Sanders (RS)
Blair (RS)
Dobbs
Lewis (RS)
O'Brien (RS)
Bynum (RS)
Foreman
Vereen

The 2012 and 2013 classes will each have about 6-7 guys left on the team. Butch is going to get talk about youth yet again!

8-5 is progress as well

Besides everyone that has followed this team, which includes recruits, sees this team has made progress

Stop being scared of expectations. We need to beat a team like Northwestern. Huge blow to our momentum in recruiting and everything else if we lose to an inferior opponent.

He knew what he was doing...why would he apologize?

I did things in my playing time that were probably dirty, which wasn't always intentional. A hard foul, a hit in the face, whatever (basketball). 99% I didn't mean anything by it. Some people thought I was a dirty player. I probably was a tad out of control sometimes, and played too hard and reactionary for my own good. Is there a comparison? Maybe, maybe not.

The UGA player got beat, he dove. I don't know we can say he intentionally was being dirty. It could have been a desperate attempt at a block, obviously not an appropriate type at all. UGA player made a mistake. I think an apology, whether or not it was genuine and we even believe it, would at least make him look like less of a douche.

Feel bad for Shy. Bottom line it shouldn't happen.

Anybody that followed va tech in their glory days I would love to know how their Special teams success compares to ours now.

They had all those kick blocks but were they as strong across the board as we are now in that very important area?

It sucks we didn't redshirt Dobbs as a freshmen. If we did, we would have a 2 year window to win a national championship (2016-2017).

Now with Dobbs, JRM, and Sutton definitely leaving after 2016 and with Hurd and Barnett possibly leaving early, 2017 could be a down year from our current upward trajectory.

Yep, but I think UGA can sneak into the East champ hopeful spot next year. They do have talent on that team and we have yet to know how Kirby will run his O and D. As for UF I think that with Treon they struggle heavily. With their QB commit they will struggle as well. If he comes in during the Spring that would def help them, but if he comes in during the summer I don't see them lighting up the airwaves next season. And who do they have at RB? Isn't their starting RB declaring for the draft?

Without playing Dobbs his freshmen year we very easily may have missed the bowl last year. That would have been very very clear change in momentum for the program.

I bring this up anytime a poster claims that we have championship level talent on this roster. Simple fact is that we have 2 really good classes that Butch has brought in. We are still short 1.5 classes from being up there with the big boys.

I was (and still am) upset that we let games slip through our fingers but we were overachieving to be in that position in the first place.

If we continue to improve both on the field and on the sidelines, it's scary to think about how good we can be because I know Butch is going to bring in the talent.

Not only are we recruiting great players and winning recruiting battles, we are evaluating and finding the guys who have yet to hit the other teams' radars.

I remember a Vols team that didn't look back when their star QB went pro in the late 90s. Those guys seemed to feel confident in the next man up to do the job. Worked in '98. At some point, we have to play all of these recruits that Butch keeps stockpiling, and I have confidence that they can do the job, just like Dobbs. Or maybe even better

2017 will be the first year that we have a full SEC roster recruited entirely by Butch Jones.

I think at that point, losing players will not hurt nearly as bad. I'm looking forward to having a veteran offensive line filled with guys who have been in a college strength program for 2-3 years.

2016 could be a special year, but every year after that could be a special year IMO.

2013=great OL, good DL, no skill players

2014=abysmal OL, decent DL, good skill players

2015=decent OL, good DL, good skill players (injuries really hurt this group)

2016=good to great OL, good to great DL, great skill players

2017=excellent OL, excellent DL, good skill players (will lose a lot of guys after next season)

@Volquest_Rob: Congrats to Darrin Kirkland Jr and Chance Hall, announced as All-SEC Freshmen selections. Very deserving. Both kept getting better all year

This is what I keep saying. Folks think 2016 is the line in the sand. I keep saying every year after that is going to be great. Some of the best teams usually succeed the very team that you thought would win it all.

I am so glad that we have enough talent on this team that we can just roll a football on the field and beat anyone. I was gonna buy a ticket to the Outback Bowl but after reading VN, it looks like it will be a waste of time and money. I don't know why Northwestern is gonna show up. Maybe they want to get away from the cold weather.

I guess I'll just watch the game for an hour and then change channels. It probably will be 50 to zip by then anyway.
