That would be a big risk for Malzahn hiring someone who has never been a DC. People are already talking about him being on the hot seat after the last two years. Auburn isn't known for their patience.

Not particularly. Thig's business is recruiting first and foremost. I'm not sure he wants to cut his teeth being a DC at Auburn.

The Vols will be the home team, wearing their traditional orange and white home uniforms, in the 30th annual Outback Bowl with the game broadcast on ESPN2 Jan. 1, 2016 at noon. On the call will be the Monday Night Football tandem of Mike Tirico and former Vol assistant Jon Gruden.

The Super Bowl champion head coach still lives in the Tampa area, but has found his way to Knoxville several times since Jones took over the Tennessee program.

"Great friend and really excited," Jones said. "Not only will he be calling the game along with Mike Tirico, but he'll be a part of the bowl functions all week long in the Tampa area. John has meant so much to me personally and professionally. To be able to get to call the game of his beloved Tennessee Volunteers and spend the week around him, I'm looking forward to it."

Will Gruden attend some Vols' practices the week between Christmas and New Year's, once the Vols report on Dec. 26?

"I'm sure he'll be coming by," Jones said.

Leonard Floyd and Antonio Morrison should never have beaten out JRM IMO.

No Cam Sutton either, shocked nobody is screaming about him not being on there. I still say this may have been his worst year which may be good for the chances of seeing him come back next year.
