Presume much? Seriously???

My belief that Cruz is more intelligent than Obama has nothing to do with ideology. For one thing, it is known that Cruz received an A in the same Harvard law class that Obama took, but Obama won't reveal his grades. For another, all one has to do is listen to them speak. Cruz could speak for hours, on various topics, at a moments notice. Obama can barely speak and formulate complete sentences, without numerous pauses, uhms, etc., and the use of a teleprompter.

Obama refers to someone in the Navy as a corpse-man, but I apparently think he's less intelligent than Cruz because of "ideology". Seriously PKT... your post above is very LG'esque in terms of "knowing what I think and why I think it". I would not expect that from you.

Of course I presumed. I also generously spotted you the better argument. If you want to reject that argument in favor of Cruz being more intelligent based on possible better course(s) grades or speaking ability, feel free.

So, now Hillary wants to stop corporate inversions by creating an "exit" tax. It's so dumb, it's actually funny. That sucking sound we hear now is businesses leaving this because of taxation. We would have inversions at terminal velocity if this became law. But I suppose, the stupider the tax policy, the more democrat voters will get turned on. The race between her and Bernie is all about who claims they will confiscate more.

There is no race between her and Bernie.

Another example of the brain disease that is progressivism. Good lord if she wins we are in trouble.

Ted Cruz vows to ‘utterly destroy ISIS’ and ‘carpet bomb’ terrorists - Washington Post

“If I am elected president, we will utterly destroy ISIS," the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate told reporters. "We won’t weaken them. We won’t degrade them. We will utterly destroy them. We will carpet bomb them into oblivion. We will arm the Kurds. We will do everything necessary so that every militant on the face of the earth will know if you go and join ISIS, if you wage jihad and declare war on America, you are signing your death warrant.”

Yep. I always get back to the same question: Are people like Obama, Hillary and the usual suspects on the left really this dumb or just manipulative?
I think manipulative fits, but that sauce is seasoned with a healthy measure if narcissism. I cannot believe they rationally believe in all this "soak the rich" and let's just hug everybody mantra that thew spew. They are very astute at knowing which way the political winds are blowing and using that to their advantage to obtain/retain power. They don't give a rat's ass about the poor, and all their rhetoric about islam being a peaceful religion is solely designed to garner the mooslim vote as well. Quite the contrary to being dumb, I think they are very very smart, which is very very scary. The middle class is squarely in their crosshairs, and it isn't a good thing.

I have been trying to decide where to put this and decided on sticking it here.

We have come so far in this nation as a people yet we have so far to go. The divisions of today are bad but they are nothing like they were 50 years ago.

My grandson is studying about the civil rights movement in school and had a project to do on MLK's "I have a dream" speech. I had not read it in many years so I re-read it a couple of times over the weekend.

It may be because I lived through that terrible time in our history but imo this is one of the greatest speeches ever written. I am asking each of you to take a couple of minutes and read it. This is a transcript of the speech MLK delivered that day in DC. It is not the actual speach he wrote. When he got ready to give the speech he decided to "wing it". Such a great speech with so much meaning and it still had that powerful meaning today.

The divisions in our country need to end. We are a better society than to live with all the hate we have in America. I pray one day that hate will end.

I'm wondering if Christie can get any traction - he's a saner version of Trump. I dislike many of his views on civil liberties but I bet he could win in the general if the right supported him.

I talked to a very lib friend of mine the other day and even he was positive about Trump because of his portrayed strength. People are tied of our beta male leader. Christie has the strength but not sure he'll ever get the right to support him.

In before Dink calls MLK an old Uncle Tom, and glad he's dead.

Joe Scarborough said last week he thought Christi may be the man to beat in NH. Said he has a tremendous game there. I'd he can pull out a win there is could carry south.

He also said if Trump pulls out Iowa and NH, He would be the nominee.

I think Christie has burned too many bridges at this point. He's the bulldog type of candidate, but Trump just plays that role more effectively. He could be a good VP candidate for a different nominee. As of right now it seems like Trump has NH on lock.

Iowa will be interesting between Trump and Cruz. Cruz is taking Carson's supporters in droves, and his momentum won't be as easy to erode.

I feel like Rubio is the only other real contender at this point.

The country is ripe for a Christie. Cruz would be an abject disaster. Christie won't make it but given the overall mood that we need a strong leader could get him through the general.

W caused divisiveness and Obama has made it policy.

I agree with you that this is a critical issue. I've never seen so much vitriol between people who are otherwise very similar.

Christie would be okay, but consider for a moment the pool of candidates we have from the major parties. Seriously, is this the best America can do? There are exactly zero candidates which elicit even moderate confidence. It's a political crapfest and a complete embarrassment.

100% agree and it's why I shake my head at someone making an outraged Facebook post about candidate (insert name). They all suck. Horrible across the board and none inspire confidence as leaders.

The small bit I heard from Jim Webb made me think at least he's a principled guy. I thought that about Kasich but he's getting desperate.

We are screwed regardless.

We need a moderate party.

Both the R's and D's have become to far right/left.

I'm personally sick of the bickering.

Oh, Cruz would be terrible. He inspires no one except the far right, and everything he does and says oozes intellectual elitism just like Obama. If something happens to Trump, though... I would wager he'll be getting the lion's share of that support.

When Christie talks, I listen. He has that quality for sure. I just wish he wasn't such an authoritarian on privacy, drugs, etc. He's one of the few on the stage that acts like an actual person.

I do the same, Bham. Candidates on both sides are atrocious, and I'm fairly certain a couple are borderline insane. I'll give the FBers one thing, though. It's pretty damn easy to bash any candidate this cycle, so they're not necessarily wrong.

If Christi could get through the primaries which is unlikely he could win the general. Cruz has a shot at winning the primary but Hillary would destroy him in the general.
