I think the match up favors well for us.

Northwestern statistically has a pretty good defense. They're top 25 in both run and pass, top 10 nationally against the run alone. They also allow a 7th best 16 points per game.

That said, they remind me of a an 2014-5 Iowa match-up. Team 119 is better than team 118, Northwestern this year is better than last year's Iowa team. This is the perfect springboard just like the Taxslayer was last year. We've finished the season strong against similar teams with defenses just as good, making both look silly on the statsheet.

I think beating the #12 team could propel us to winning those close primetime OOC, Florida, SECW, and Bama match-ups. If we beat Northwestern, I'll be expecting 10 regular season wins with a floor of 9.

Yeah Maggitt needs to move on. We are stacked at DE already and what does he have left to prove? Another injury could kill his career. Get healthy and get paid.

Not surprised about the Maggitt situation. If he has a shot to get paid to play, he doesn't need to risk it for a 6th year at Neyland.

Selfishly, I think it'd help Cam's stock to perfect his technique, add more to the highlight reel, and recapture his 1st Rnd projection.

I've also underestimated the interest JRM has gotten recently. He is absolutely all over the field and has a knack for making plays, and could fit really well in a new-fangled roll-playing defense. I've been figuring that JRM was a safer bet to stay than Sutton all season.

I never thought and still don't think Kamara would go pro just yet. I don't know crap about how RB's are scouted, but it just seems too early.

Who would replace JRM and Sutton next season if they both declare for the draft? Really hoping Kamara does stay- wish they would ALL stay but I guess that's wishing for a lot.

Hubbs did say Cam has a set grade he would need to see or he will be back, but didn't say what it was. Sounds like Cam has a pretty definitive plan.

I bet we have 2-3 more decommitments before NSD. Maybe more. Butch's pitch on the recruiting trail is going to sound a lot better to the recruits he really wants after the dead period ends and we are 9-4 ranked in the top 20.
