I wouldn't read too much into UT contacting Pruitt. It could just be a gauging interest thing in case there is turnover, expected or unexpected.

I don't think Jeremy Pruitt ever coaches a down of football here. This doesn't pass the smell test to me.

It honestly may be worth it for a year or two just to reap the rewards on the recruiting trail. He's no scrub as a DC, either. Would be an improvement over Jancek but unlikely to be a long-term fit.

We are 4-3 base but very multiple. Pruitt runs an NFL type multiple 3-4. Just think though, JRM and Kirkland in the middle, Austin Smith and Taylor/Sapp on the outsides. KMac, Tuttle, and Barnett up front. Nasty.

What about all those DEs? Stand them up?

I don't like switching defenses this year. Players would be thinking instead of reacting. Not this off season.

I think this season went about like the Vandy game. The offense was better than expected. At times, it even looked elite.

The defense was a little disappointing. Not bad, just not as good as I'd hoped. The secondary wasn't as good as I'd thought. The linebackers disappeared at times. The d-line didn't get the consistent push I expected. That said, they raised up and took care of business in the second half. They finally made some adjustments that took a play or two too long to make.

Again, the Vandy game felt a lot like the rest of the season.
