The guy has done a great job of self promotion. I mean a week ago we were reading articles about him being fired at UGA. Richt was tweeting "oh no, Pruitt is working hard and he's still on staff." Now Richt is out and Pruitt had his players tweeting out a graphic he obviously made and then they are all hashtagging #KeepPruitt

Now he's mentioned with every possible opening. Even head coaching jobs in the SEC.

He is a great example of how changing jobs every year can be great for your career. It's the old Kevin O'Neil method. Just change quick enough that people never can tell if you're any good.

I can't see Butch getting rid of Jancek, has to be for a hc position possibly but if true it's coming at the WORST time!!!!!! Is this who LWS was referring to that would be surprising?

if you look at Pruitt's stops and his bridges he has burned, it would seem he is not welcome back at UGA or FSU but Bama just makes too much sense because Nick Satan only cares about one thing and that is titles. He literally hired Lupoi right after his scandal because he saw that the guy could recruit so with Smart gone he will reach out to Pruitt who runs a 3-4 base as well and he can slide right in. Remember Satan is the BEST at being the boss, Pruitt can scream and argue but after he is done with his tantrums, Satan will look at him with his rings and say well now that you are done I am going to tell you how the F--- we are going to do things.


I welcome Smart's staff and many more, I want us to get back to a full season of big games and earning our SEC titles and more...GO VOLS!

Butch better be careful with Pruitt.

The rift between he and CMR played a big role in the change there

No doubt he cut CMR legs out from under him

I would be absolutely shocked if Butch hires Pruitt or really anyone remotely close to a "name" hire. If he replaces Jancek, he will probably hire his former accountant in Mount Pleasant who used to be a DC of a high school team in 1983. And that guy will be actually turn out to be a pretty good hire.

I wouldn't read too much into UT contacting Pruitt. It could just be a gauging interest thing in case there is turnover, expected or unexpected.

This board, no doubt, will read too much into it though.

A switch to the 3-4 wouldn't be as painful now because of KMac and Tuttle. I am sure Pruitt could coach another defense too if need be. Wade Phillips would always say he would run either a 4-3 or a 3-4 based on what he had, he didn't really care which one. Wouldn't Muchamp be running a 3-4 at UGA next year when he usually runs a 4-3?

Although it would be a disappointing bowl game, I can't help but laugh when picturing a potential matchup with Pitt and Nate Peterman in the Belk Bowl.

From the bama side of things....

I asked my bama friend about what bama sites are saying about smart to UGA and then smart's subsequent replacement. Here are his texts:

"Interesting development. Looks like Smart is pushing for total control (like Saban has) and the AD is pushing back. Not a done deal yet"

"Basically Saban will decide between taking Pruitt back or promoting Tucker. Pruitt the better recruiter so we may have to go with him to limit the damage of losing Smart. Smart fought to keep Pruitt at UGA but lost that battle. Ad said no"

We are 4-3 base but very multiple. Pruitt runs an NFL type multiple 3-4. Just think though, JRM and Kirkland in the middle, Austin Smith and Taylor/Sapp on the outsides. KMac, Tuttle, and Barnett up front. Nasty.

Also added:

"Our insiders that are connected to Kirby also say that he presented Muschamp as the 2nd choice to Pruitt. .. so if he doesn't get HC at SC he will likely be DC at UGA"
