2015 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards Announced

So not seeing a lot of this Mr. Football talent headed our way. What happened to the fence around TN? Is the talent in this class really that subpar? Are we in on that many more talented guys?

Dillon Mitchell and Amari Rodgers are the big losses on this list. Still an outside shot at Rodgers....a lot of '17 guys in the list that have yet to commit

The fact that so many '17 guys won mr football is a good indication that '16 class is below recent Tennessee standards.

'17 is gonna be outrageous

I agree that MSU is a tough job in the west. But I said a day or two ago that Mullen has had about 5 automatic wins every year. In 7 years, I believe he has only played GTech and Okie State as power 5 OOC games. So, he just needs to win 2-3 games a year to make it a good year. I agree that last year was a magical year.

That will change going forward with the scheduling requirement.

Yeah but before he got there they only had maybe 1 or 2 automatic wins a year. He's created a culture of winning there, and done it consistently. He wins the games he's supposed to win and has capitalized against better teams when they were vulnerable.

He will take Mississipi State to its 6th straight bowl game this year. Which doubles the previous longest stretch in school history. In an era where the SEC west has been lauded as the most competitive division in all of sports.

What he's been able to consistently do in Starkville over the past 7 years is as impressive as any coaching job during that time imo.

Not saying he's the greatest coach of all time or anything. But he's a proven good coach that has won some big games with less heralded talent than most of the schools he competes with.

He may do a lot more with a better opportunity. For any of these schools looking for coaches, he's as safe of a bet as you could possibly find. Also he didn't just get fired like Richt.

We haven't broken the top 70 in passing offense since Butch has taken over, and we are 93rd this year. Something needs to change there imo.

We don't have a passing QB, so our running games compensates. If you want to argue about benching Dobbs? Have fun. :)

Smart to UGA
Pruitt/Muschamp to SC
Richt to Miami

Don't think it could work out much better than this for us Vol fans

If Pruitt goes to SC the entire defense may be told to transfer lol. I think he kicked about half the UGA players off because he thought they sucked for his system. He really will hate the SC defensive players lol

Having the football program be profitable is a lot different than the entire athletic department. Afte that subsidizes almost every other sport I'm sure there's not too much left to add to the reserve

Thank you. That makes sense. I guess it reveals how football subsidizes the other sports.

I don't disagree that he has been good. I just don't believe all records are created equal. People just look at records. If we schedule someone other than Oregon and OU, Butch is 6-6, 8-6, and 9-3. Mullen has only been above .500 in conference once in seven years.

I agree though that he could still do well at a school where he could recruit better.

Richt to Miami would be a bad thing for Florida. Hell, it would be a bad thing for the next UGA coach. He will still have a great pipeline to that state.

If will be bad for all not just UF. FSU would take more of a hit than UF. We just cherry pick Mia but the Noles live or die by SoFla talent under Jimbo. UF life blood is and always will be Central Fla. Now, you outsiders will have to really fight for top Fla kids with Mac, Jimbo, Saint Richt and Frost all recruiting the state.

We don't really recruit Florida that much under Butch. Seems like we are pretty settled on TN, GA, the Carolinas, Virginia, Alabama, and Ohio, with a few national kids here and there.

We have little need for Florida other than highly interested recruits IMO.

It won't while Dobbs is QB imo.

And the thing is, we about went undefeated with a 93rd ranked passing game. Dobbs was like top 25 in efficiency.

If we can develop get just one difference maker at Wide Receiver we look like Oregon on steroids (obligatory "damn straight" from Will Grier).

We don't even need to be top 25 in passing to win championships, with Dobbs right around 50 would break records.

Has anyone looked at Cutcliffe as a head coach. He's not young, but he's a great coach. (Maybe he doesn't want to leave Duke..)

Va will be interesting to watch moving forward without London at Va it should be open season of in Tidewater. Maryland/DC as well. Wonder if Durkin keeps Lox around.

I don't think he leaves there. He is getting up in age and has had past health issues. He is a hero there and won't get fired unless it just falls apart. He can win 6+ games a year in the ACC.
