Mullen would go from having the least talented team in the strongest division in football to having talent on talent in a much weaker east. He would win. Quickly.

I'd rather them hire Herman.

Neither are ideal for us.

I like Mullen, but in 7 years, he has had only one with a conference record above .500. Their out of conference schedule has been weak, and he normally has 4 built-in wins.

I don't get the affinity for Mullen but of Mullen, Smart and Herman give me Smart as the guy we have to face. FTR Mullen has about as much talent as AR and Beliema has done about as much as Mullen in equal time.

I would be more concerned about Herman and a good DC than most of who they could hire. Meyer's tree has much better roots than Saban's.

I want UGA to hire whomever gives us the best shot at Warrior, Hardman, Brown, Price, etc. It's time for them to make a Derek Dooley-esque hire.

A couple of reporters on Twitter are saying a former UGA player who is still well connected to the program is saying a deal has already been reached with Kirby Smart. Football Scoop said they expect UGA to hire Smart, Mullen, or Jimbo (I think Jimbo is just looking for a raise). Everything I've seen about Herman is just that he's interested. I've yet to read anything about UGA targeting him.

Not if it comes with a lot of dollars

This.

A coach doesn't look at what may get him fired when considering a job. He looks at talent base. Recruiting budget. Competition. And most of all Dollar Signs. Fearing he may get fired is not even on the radar.

Jimbo has no reason to leave FSU IMO. The Smart smoke seems rather thick.

I know your affinity for him. I can't really disagree. But Smart is in SEC territory and recruiting the same kids already. Just saying that he may not be able to immediately sighm a stellar class until he gets some time under him.

QBs would gravitate towards him. Would lock in Eason. Don't forget that he was a top recruiter at Ohio State and he already has relationships in those high schools.

Apples and oranges but no way the UGA faithful buy that. Mullen is a good stable coach but he's not Richt replacement good. I am sorry.

Richt has had loaded talent and the division has been up and down a decade.

I think Dooley was one of the worse hires in college football history. Hard for Ga to hire anyone who would even remotely be that bad.
