He hung Les out to dry for a week and made him and everyone in the nation think he was being fired, then he beats A&M and Alleva says he will continue to be the coach.

Such an astoundingly disrespectful way to treat a Hall of Fame coach who still has a lot of great years left in him and is still fielding a solid team in a hyper competitive conference.

I hope Les dumps their ass, and they fire the AD. (Who deserves it the way they treated Chavis last year) What a load of crap.

Hope you guys like Charlotte, I probably jixed us.

I went ahead and picked up some seats on the Allegiant flights to Florida on New Years eve. I did kick in the 20 bucks to get a full refund if i need to cancel, but the cheapo flights were the only way we could make it to Tampa if we end up there.

Vandy is better than Florida without that souped up cheating quarterback and their nightmare kicker.

So are we going to be ranked this week?

Teams like #15 Navy, #20 Wash St, #24 Toledo, #21 Miss St, and #22 UCLA all lost this week and could be dropped from the rankings. But Houston, Memphis, USC, LSU and ourselves could move in.

I have a feeling that we won't be ranked in the next update, but I am hoping

Vol Stat of the Day: 331 rushing yards. Vandy was only allowing 126 per contest entering the game.

I fully believe we can run the football very successfully against any defense in the country. Major props on the improvement of this OL, and our great 1-2-3 punch of Dobbs/Hurd/Kamara. I'm not sure if the OL improvement is due to Debord or Mahoney...if it's truly Mahoney, then he deserves to keep his job. Make sure Elder gets paid this offseason, because he deserves it.

I don't think we are either, POA. We didn't have enough interest from the voters from last week. We would have to jump a lot of teams, and I don't think that happens. If we could play and beat a ranked team in a good bowl, then we would finish the season ranked. However, you watch this crappy UGA team end up in this week's poll.

We probably won't be ranked, but right now, I feel like our team can beat or play competitively with everyone in the top 25...

Thoughts on game:

1. Game balls to Barnett, Sutton, Dobbs and Hurd. Shoutouts to JRM, Josh Smith, Von, Medley and the OL.

2. Great game plan and execution on offense. Perhaps our best game offensively since Georgia, and a top 2-3 performance on the season.

3. Defense really turned up the heat in the 3Q. Made great halftime adjustments and shut down Vandy completely.

4. Huge play by TKjr to close out the 1st half. Much needed.

5. Fantastic atmosphere for senior night. Larger crowd than I expected.

6. This team has a lot to be proud of, but may always be remembered as the "What Might Have Been" Vols. The Arkansas game aside, which I believe was the only game we were truly outplayed and beaten, rather than a game we lost, we had a real shot at winning all others and going to the playoff. 1. Had Will Grier's 2nd test results come in before our game, we beat Florida by 27 (recall Treon was already suspended for that game). We should have beaten them anyway - they are complete garbage offensively. 2. Vanilla vanilla vanilla against Oklahoma in the 2nd half, and Jumper over Kirkland. 3. Medley against Bama.

7. Was great to see all the seniors get playing time late, but wish they could have held Vandy off the board. Notable that Marcus Jackson, Blair, and Blanc did not get recognized on senior night, and that Sutton and JRM did not either. If only those recognized last night are the players that leave, it's crazy to imagine that our biggest losses from this team are Maggitt, Owen Williams and Von Pearson - we are returning more than a nucleus...we have the whole atom.

Lol Mizzou got turned down by Matt Campbell. They are going to end up with a nobody for a head coach.

They probably end up with Odom (he was just interviewed for the second time)...being that he's an alumnus with some chops, that might end up working out for them.

Sutton and JRM aren't SENIORS. It's not called LAST GAME NIGHT.

Haven't we seen juniors that were declaring honored on senior night before? Was thinking we had - maybe most recently w EB?

Not in my memory... Even if they had already graduated (like Peyton). And Eric Berry was DEFINITELY playing in his last home game. Would be kinda embarrassing if they did that and the two stayed! :w00t:

Neither one of those teams belonged on the field with us. Those Vol teams were loaded. Embarrassing. Just didn't show up to play, kinda like Bammer against Utah and Okie.

Bammer did show up against OU. OU was just better. I get tired of bama getting that excuse when they lose.

HG, do you seriously think he would consider going there, considering all of the political mess on that campus?

Not sure about his political views but he would be a great hire for both the football team and for public perception of Missouri as a whole. An Olive Branch imo.

Shout out to Josh for an outstanding game yesterday. The guy caught everything that went his way. I believe that he has a future in the NFL.

Was very surprised to hear jones really giving cZa props for leading the work with the punt return team last night after the game

I was under the impression elder was in charge of all the special teams but that sounded like coaches spilt the duties.

I hope he is not trying to justify keeping him. He failed miserably as a position coach.

I thought it sounded a little like that

Main thing is we all have hailed elder around here for being so great due to special teams . Is he really in charge of those teams like we thought? After last night I have my doubts
