I agree with you, just pointing out that hypothetically using that as an excuse to run off to tech is not a solution.

Part of the passion that puts so many eyeballs on this sport and that puts money in these coaches pockets motivates a few nut jobs to lash out.

It's not right, but I can't think of many jobs that come with multimillion dollar paychecks that also don't have some level of publicity and occasionally threats like these.

I agree with this mostly. If he wins 9 Id say an extension is appropriate. But I don't expect his bluff will be called and he will receive both.

So you think that Jones is the first successful Head Coach to ever have his family threatened?

How many times have we read about the children of coaches at major programs--be it in the NCAA or in the NFL--getting hazed for being the son of the coach?

This kind of stuff goes with the territory--everywhere. I mean--Les Miles could possibly lead LSU to 10 wins and then be gone at the end of this season....

Anyone coaching at this level better learn to ignore it--and be able to teach his family to endure it...all the while taking appropriate precautions for his children.

Either that or hit the highway....kind of like you guys said that Hurd should hit the highway if he didn't like the way Jones utilized him......it DOES float both ways--but Jones is getting paid enough to walk away any time he wants....:salute:

LWS said some changes will be made to the staff this offseason. Sounds to me like the plan for next year is already in place so why would that be necessary if Butch wasn't here?
