Have Big 12 offenses skewed our perception of reality and what constitutes a good offense? Cuz their conference doesn't play a whole lot of defense.

#LSU AD Joe Alleva declines comment on Miles until after season ends

That is as good as saying he's gone..

I wonder about Mark Richt now, because they went into overtime with Georgia Southern.

Anybody see McEwain's post game press conference? He doesn't pull any punches. He was brutally honest. I find it hard to hate that guy like I normally would any Florida coach. He compared his players to dead fish in the seafood section at Winn Dixie.

Made me think of some of the quotes we would get from Dooley. Only difference is that Mac has won as many games in one year than Dooley did in 2 years combined.

For those who love(d) what McElwain has accomplished in year 1, just remember his best win in year 1 is worse than CBJ's best in year 1 and CBJ has never had as bad of a performance against vastly inferior opposition at UT as what Florida did yesterday. And Florida clearly has more talent than what CBJ inherited. The NFL draft this year and next will prove that.

Florida has gotten some big breaks this year. I'm not sure Mac is what he's being cracked up to be.

Both Malone (Ky) and Pearson (Scar) have had 100-yard receiving games. Crappy secondaries.

Azzani simply has to go before the bowl game. It's best he Butch just work with them those 15 practices. Then new guy gets them in the spring.

I agree. I would tell him to look for another job next Sunday.

Wow. Haha. Inmates are starting to take over the asylum under Urban's control. Stop me if you've heard that narrative before.

(Disclaimer: not proposing Elliott is an inmate, just a saying)

Yeah, and then Urbs says in his presser that you judge the kind of leaders you have in times like these, not when you are winning 23 games in a row. He said basically they are front runners and when things get tough, it appears they fold, like some of the interviews given. Umm, Urbs, leadership starts at the very top...that would be with you. You are the very definition of a front runner, and when things get tough, you completely crumble. Makes me very proud to have Butch as our coach! His leadership shows glowingly through our players when times get tough.

Yeah but in this case he's trying to passive-aggressively bully Jalen into doing interviews with him. I know it's a breakout game for him and Wes wants a story but if Jalen doesn't want to give an interview and instead just wants to be with his teammates that's his prerogative. Maybe Jalen doesn't want to be the story but instead wants the story to be about the team?

Wes is a petulant twit for not leaving well enough alone and trying to publicly bully Hurd with one of his classic hissy fits. It's not like he won't ever get a chance to talk to him.

What I said was the cliff notes version of what you said. If Rucker is breathing, he's whining.

I agree with most of this but overall, FL is not more talented that Tennessee. You can argue their defense is but their offense is not more talented than Tennessee.

This is what happens when your preseason extends well into November. When you finally do have to play a team with a pulse you're not ready for it.

@brentdougherty: With 151 yards rushing tonight, @Vol_Football RB Jalen Hurd is 1,138 yards away from becoming the Vols' all-time leading rusher.

This is why if Hurd is upset about his blocking or anything as 74 has stated then he needs to sit back and think for a second. He has a great opportunity to break a record and have his name above Lewis Foster Stephens Stewert Webb etc. No small accomplishment

My point was re: year 1 at Florida for Mac versus year 1 at Tennessee for CBJ. Mac inherited more talent, played a much weaker schedule, beat some bad teams and scraped out a few lucky wins as well. The luckiest was versus us.

As for Florida 2015 versus Tennessee 2015, I agree. Without Grier their offense clearly isn't equal to ours. Overall I think they are playing a lot more juniors and seniors than we are.

Color me unimpressed with Mac. That performance yesterday is on him. His team had a bad attitude because of him. He needs to own responsibility for the culture of his program. I wouldn't be surprised if they went 8-5 or worse next year.

I'm pulling for Michigan to hate crime Ohio State this weekend. Wouldn't care except that last offseason showed that Buckeyes fans are the most insufferable fanbase out there...and yes, that includes Bama! They beat Michigan and their bowl opponent (if they miss the playoff cut) and there won't be any entitlement dropoff. :pinch:

So should we be impressed with our season?

I don't think he said talented now. I think he said McElwain inherited more talent, which is correct. We did play a tight game against South Alabama in Butch's first year, but we led most of the game.

Win next week, and I will be very impressed with how this team stuck together when times got tough, and grinded and fought for five wins in a row. Could it and maybe should it have been better? Absolutely. However, I don't care what anyone says, we still have a fairly young team, that has overcome a TON of adversity and injuries. To win 8 in the regular season with all of that is huge progress. Next year, absolutely no excuses! Lose to Vandy, and all of what I said goes out the window.
