Regarding the discussion of Hurd's dissatisfaction, through 13 games last year he had 39 yards for loss. Through only 10 games this year, he already has 53 yards for loss. He averaged 4.7 vs 4.4 yards per carry this year.

Some of this is his fault. He does not always make the right read

OL does suck though

Field Turf with a large image of the state in a darker shade on the field covering like 60 yards would be great. Of course orange power T at midfield.

Most teams do dark shade for 10 yards lighter for 10...

I just don't see this grass getting fixed anytime soon. Field Turf and call it a day. Im sick of hearing about it

You mean like a silhouette of Tennessee in a dark shade similar to a watermark between the 20 yard marks? That would be cool in theory. I would have to see it in a rendering first.

Whip that up for me and I'll see if I like it. I'll forward it to my people.

Here's what NIU's looks like. I think this is what he's talking about.

Regarding the field issue that has dominated the discussion on here this week, I haven't made a statement of opinion on it. That's because....

It's turf to grassp.

Shoe on the other foot, we would also complain if Hurd blew out his knee on an opponent's crappy field.

That doesn't change the fact that Tuttle got his knee blown out from a dirty play. My policy on dirty plays is you miss the amount of time as the victim of your crime. Been advocating this for years in football and hockey, along with any other sport where contact happens.

Field conditions had nothing to do with Chubb's knee injury or Tuttl's ankle injury

Hurd softens up defenses and then Dobbs and Kamara take advantage. It's very effective but not very glamorous for Hurd. He is the feature back with the most carries and yds so it's not lack of opportunity.

Ummm, 3/10 of a yards is one foot.
Not a dramatic difference.
How many overall carries for each year to this point?
Need the whole picture...how many lost yards did Lane have?
