They are peaking right now coming off their best performance and have their starting RB healthy again. On the flip side, we are coming off our worst performance. I think it'll all come down to whether Dobbs can run or not.

If that was the peak of their season, we may win by more than I'm expecting.

Can't make this up.

Just found out Riverdale is raising money to put down Field Turf for next year.

FWIW, a HS coach in Knoxville told me as part of this little donation spree the Haslams are on, they were going to donate enough to 'turf' all of the Knox County high school football fields over the next 3 years (along with a smaller 'academic' donation to each school). They'll have some sort of random lottery to see what order they go in.

I'm interested to see if that's true...

Hello Volnation Friends.. Sorry to derail the thread, I just wanted to take the time to check in with everyone.

Last time I posted on here, I was in need of help meaning lots of prayers. Looks like like all of them paid off because I am doing much better and have hope now that everything is gonna be fine. After a ton of tests and all that good stuff, the drs found absolutely nothing wrong with me in that regard. But I was having other symptoms of another condition and she determined that is what I have and she is treating me with some good medicine that I will have to take for the rest of my life which is fine. That said, this condition will not bring me down and I'm gonna just carry on with my normal life of love, laughter, exercising, and eating and sleeping good. So I feel like my life is back to the way it was before this bump in the road, but such is life.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Now lets win these last two games and finish 8-4 and go to a good bowl game.

It's fair to say that Butch doesn't have any excuses next year.

I don't want to hear anything about youth, learning how to win or 40% of the team has never been on a road game.

"We lost x amount of starters instead of the previous 2? with AJ and Coleman." "We have to give him time to rebuild from that."

There will always be rationalizations.

Maryville High made the switch a couple of years ago. Looks really good. Haven't gotten a chance to walk or run on it myself, but the players do just fine on it.

When Jr was at Blackman, we went to Maryville. That's a terrific HS stadium and field.

If Butch were to get fired for some reason or another, he will never be thought of as a Dooley or a Kiffin. He has left our program 100% better than it was when he came.

All these big time programs coming open. Butch will have leverage to get exactly what he wants.

If he wants Field Turf bet he gets it.

Not saying he would leave or even thinking about it. Agents have a way to float their clients name out there to get clients what they want.

I don't think UGA and Auburn get rid of their HC's. What's up with the TAMU job? Is Sumlin going somewhere else? Also, I think it would be stupid if LSU got rid of Miles.

Random thought.....

I've been wondering if I watched different football games the last two weeks as everyone else or at least some. South Carolina played their best two games of the year against aTm and Tennessee. They lost both, but they were their best efforts. While I would have loved for us to have scored more points against North Texas.....I can't blame the team for not being as up for the game and the whole game plan for North Texas was to NOT lose by as much as what they were expected to. That was their victory......to lose by 24 instead of 45.

Now, the field. Anyone who does not feel the field is a big issue, IMO is brain dead. Me seeing the field in that kind of shape on tv when they are showing the whole field from a zoomed out camera is pathetic and unacceptable. I don't give a sh** if the field is grass or turf, but it should never look like it has this year again. Fire whoever you have to, put however much money into it that you have to, but fix the damn field! It's an embarrassment!
