Hell..Nick..pure ol Volnation hell.

Well, we've won 2/3 against our last SEC foes, and a sure win this week, so we need something to rail against, I suppose.

Much of the last long touchdown drive against Florida was from the pistol, with Hurd behind Dobbs. It was a thing of beauty to see Hurd hit a hole at full speed and just move people. I wish they would run from that formation when they're trying to close out a game.

That was a great drive. I didn't realize we were in the pistol. Seems like it would be harder for the D to know which way Hurd is going.

Not changing the subject and wasn't sure it's been posted but heard Dr Jerry Punch estatic today that his son got the call from Butch last Wednesday to walk on next season.

Remember when Malone was transferring this time last year? Lots of "sources" said he was unhappy how he was used.

I hate that he left. He could have helped us win some games this year.

Can we get back to discussing playing backups and pounding NT into oblivion.

Either way we win if backups are ready - amirite

Dobbs is the most important piece to this offense. Hurd is definitely a huge piece though. I think a RB by committee approach could survive him. Without Dobbs this running game is dead. We wouldn't even make a bowl without him.

This.

Hurd is a complement to Dobbs, not the center of the universe. Dobbs is the center. JMO, but Hurd may want to be or may be lobbying for some changes in the plays/blocking scheme. Butch's system does not provide for the RB to be the feature player. As I posted before it is similar in intent and in some of the design to Ole Miss and Auburn.

So if it is still dependent on one player to perform well in the system, how is that different than UGA, Bama, LSU, etc.? Their one player happens to be the RB. The DC's just scheme to mitigate the strengths of the QB controlled scheme instead of a run game with play action scheme. Personally I hope Hurd can get some run game changes made. If he does maybe they can get a better balance in the attack.

I dont think this team could line straight up in the power and run on teams. Need more experience at OL. To offset that the read option is perfect with all the misdirection. I really hope they take in his concerns also, I love the kid.

A RB can get big yards in this system. OL will have to be better and the play calling needs to be less predictable too. All that 1st and 10 run play stuff gets the man teed off on.

SIAP but VFL34 is the calm inside our storm. Beast ever when playing and post. It's cool that he brought some wisdom to that thread. I hate to see our laundry aired. It's bad enough when it's a couple basement dwelling bozos bashing players, but its worse when you have fam tossing out trash in the street.

No disrespect to families of players. I have tried to envision my son getting picked apart. Freak would have a restraining order out on me.

There is a ton of doo doo to try a bring it over here. Summary: Hurd's not happy. Doesn't like the offense. Was promised some more pro set plays from under center and it's not happening. Tired of getting hit behind the line about every time. Tired of running left and right. Tired of not knowing if he's getting the ball untilDobbs gives it to him. General frustration.

I'm pretty sure us going under center would pretty much give away the play unless we also ran some play action out of it. Eagles went to some of that vs Cowboys to get Murray going.

It all goes hand and hand. Maybe he doesn't know if he is getting the ball but neither does the defense. The defense hesitates trying to see what Dobbs is doing making them a step late. Oline is improving and will be better next year.

He isn't being mentioned by national media with Chubb/Fornette/Henry because of our record the past few years not because of scheme or performance. Players on teams in the championship runs get the spotlight. Chubb last year. Fornette and Henry this year. Hurd will get his name shining on ESPN next year if that what the damn fuss is about

I said this before Bama. When its 1st and 10 and everyone in the stadium sees 8 in the box.

Let Dobbs keep it around the end for big yards since the DE crashes.

Have Dobbs pull the ball out of jalens stomach and hit Wolfe down the middle.

Same as number two but with slants.

The playcalling isn't bad, it's just predictable on predictable downs.

Guys, we only have two regular season games after this weekend.

That's crazy. Seems just last week we were salivating at the thought of fall camp updates.

Oh the gleeful banter about Khalil's thighs, Barnett reincarnated in Kyle, Malone poised to get 1,000 yards.... Heck... even Pig was still on the team back then... and Croom and North. Our WR unit was going to devastate.

😩

The better we get and the better the talent recruited the more pissed off players we'll have. There is a trail of tears and broken promises that runs out of Tuscaloosa and it only gets deeper with each NC.

They said I'd QB. I was supposed to be the starter. I was backup for 4 years and promised a job and now they have a freshman starting.

it's like kids

they frustrate you with something small and you wish in part they'd move onto something new and when they do you miss it
