I agree with you. Just imagine for a moment if Pinkel didn't act like he supported these idiots 100%. If he held meeting and practices for the other players the negative attention will be forced on him.

Unfortunately this is the country we live in now.

Understood, but if you're attending school on a scholarship, you need to meet the terms of that scholarship. A student on academic scholarship refuses to go to class and/or participate in academic activities? That scholarship gets yanked. Peaceful protests are more than ok...this is a coup.

I agree. I think several of the wars we've declared have been counterproductive and a gross negative to minorities and poor people in general.

The War on Drugs...
The War on Poverty...

I seriously think that if we instead declared a War on Uneducation, a lot of problems would start to clear up. And with the current socialist state of our Universities, I think a War on Bad Education would probably help too.

Not saying Pinkel is in an easy situation. Maybe times have changed and I haven't. But in my opinion, its clear cut. You do your job and leave your politics out of it. If you can't do that, then resign your position.

Missouri has a Medical School and hospital in Columbia. Are the doctors and nurses boycotting their jobs for this issue?

Because Missouri is a publicly funded institution I wonder if it they could get into a messy First Amendment situation by pulling scholarships. Boycott's and protests are seen as a legitimate way of exercising free speech rights, and having a state-funded institution pull scholarships because of it, could be seen as retaliatory or being a punishment for doing so. I could totally wrong though...

If its like most state university systems, the president reports to a provost who reports to a Board. Its difficult for one person to fire a university president. I think its set up that way to protect academic freedom

Pinkel has no choice but to support this nonsense. If he doesn't, every other coach in America will use that against him in recruiting and will allude to him being a racist. Hopefully, this ish gets straightened out before next week.

And you might want to look at those crime statistics again, then adjust for population and get your per capita rates. Whites lead in arson, that's pretty much it. Math.

Ok I'll play Travis- how many times were you called the N word by fans at our stadium ? What section ? What specific games? I have been to games for many years in multiple sections and have never heard anyone including opposing players called the N word. If anyone called one of our players that they would in all honesty have the dog crap stomped out of them. And what was the restaurant? Any chance you were for example under dressed for lets say the Copper Cellar and that it had nothing to do with race? I sometimes believe that the race card is played too easily and too often - to the point where we now have white people pretending to be black just so they can join in.
