This is Another example of why family members of players don't need to me here. There is nothing good that ever comes from it and usually the family ends up getting a bad vibe of the fanbase.

This info is none of our business and shame on 74 posting it here anyway.

Still loses a year in the NFL to end up more or less in the same spot.

Maybe, maybe not. Fort and Chubb will probably come out next year. I think he is a first rounder but he's definitely not getting first round pub. If he went to a pro style offense at say Michigan or SC or similar he might win a Heisman and be a number 1 pick. Who knows? I know it's unlikely but it's entirely possible that he could improve his draft stock therefore his value. JMO

I'm actually going to agree with you on something. I think it's in very poor taste for him to be putting that our there.

Correct. With Twitter, all he/she has done is create a potential firestorm for Hurd. Even if he does want to leave, Volnation isn't the place to break the news. Lol

Well yeah. That's a bit disheartening to hear. Though I agree that he would be getting more attention and yards in a pro style offense. He didn't get many yards against USC (Worst SEC running defense) so I imagine Hurd isn't happy at the moment.

How important is that really? NFL scouts know what he brings to the table. He will do very well at the combine. And he will always know that he helped restore Tennessee to power.

I'd say there's a much higher chance it would just end up costing him money. No reason he wouldn't get a first round grade after another season here with the improvement in his stats he should see from a better OL.

I understand that. I guess all competitors want to be the best they can be, and he thinks he could be even better in a different style offense. Or if the OL blocked better

Haha for real.

Did Butch ever use a fullback on any of his teams? I'm guessing no. Unless he told Hurd he would be, I'm not seeing the reason to be upset.

My guess this is someone in his family that Hurd told he was frustrated and said something he had no serious thoughts about going through with.

How many of you have left work, went home and told your wife "I'm never going back to that place".

I've had plenty of jobs like that. Reality of providing for my family and paying bills changed my mind and I punched the clock the next day.

Family members should step away from the keyboard before airing things. It should be the player to announce news like this.

Again not buying it

This guy says that transferring down a level and padding your stats most definitely helps your career:

I realize it's a gamble but in his eyes it may be worth it.

I hope this is just frustration talking.

I see his point though. Schematically we do very little to help him. We struggle to make blocks, and even when the line does its job there are still multiple LBs and frequently a safety in the box playing run. We rarely generate numbers advantages with Hurd running the football. Dobbs' running ability can make the defense hesitate which will give him occasional breathing room, but aside from that?

You don't have to line up under center in traditional I formation to run power, either. Motion Wolf or Ellis and run Jalen behind them... Or just line Wolf up in the backfield. But we do very little of this.

If Butch is promising Hurd this stuff but not delivering (as Vol74 says) then I understand some of the anger. I hope he sticks with it though.
