I think the field messed us up worse than anything yesterday..I agree with engineer. Nike cleats suck evidently, at least the ones we were wearing. It seemed like SC was still getting good footing, while our boys looked like they were on ice.
Really? It looked to me like they were slipping at least as much as we were. Especially early.

McDowell is seemingly in on every special teams play. He's gonna be a fan favorite hybrid OLB imo

Yeah. Butch likes to put the young talent on Special teams, then get them in on offense or defense. I think McDowell is playing really well and he will have an impact on defense next year.

I know Bama and lsu aren't any different than us and they certainly have a dang good thing going.

IMO Hurd does more in pass blocking, pass receptions and total plays played than Fournette and henry.

Would love to know what the total plays look like amongst the 3

Henry - 226 touches
Fournette - 202 touches
Hurd - 198 touches

There is no way to compare Hurd to Fournette and Henry. Butch's scheme is more like what you see out of Ole Miss and Auburn. Those other two backs run in pro power sets that are both under center and shotgun. Butch calls his pro style, but there are no NFL teams running anything remotely like it. The closest would be Philly, but Butch's is significantly different. If you put Hurd in Bama or LSU's offense he would probably do equally well. He's a stud and can do anything asked of him.

What SEC team uses more than a 2 RB rotation? LSU and Bama don't. Florida doesn't. Georgia maybe pre-Chubb injury

Georgia still give Douglas a few carries a game.

Most teams don't rotate 3 backs consistently. I'd still like to see a more evenly distribution of carries between Hurd and Kamara at least.

I don't think sprinkling Kelly in occasionally (3-5 times a game) would be a bad thing either. He brings something different to the table than Hurd and Kamara. Might at least keep the defense guessing a bit more at least.

Plays off is the key.

Hurd is on the field at a higher % is my guess. Would love to know the truth

Plays off are not the key. Touches/hits are the keys to durability (which was your argument at the beginning, I'm sure it will change a couple times before you're done)

RBs don't become less durable from pass blocking and running 5 yd routes.

Hurd isn't getting worked anymore than other premiere backs in the league.

Wait just a second.

So if Hurd is in on the field for 3rd down pass blocking while Kamara runs a swing pass that doesn't add wear and tear on Hurd?

Surely that isn't what you are saying.

When the 2nd team back comes into the game henry and fournette come to the sidelines. We have so many plays where both Kamara and Hurd are in the game. Very different styles for sure

That's exactly what I'm saying. That happens 2-3 times a game, maybe?

I'll repeat it, Hurd isn't getting worked anymore than other premier backs in the SEC.

You can argue all you want, it won't make it any less true.

So Hurd and Kamara are on the field together only 2-3 times a game?

What exactly are you trying to argue? I'll be happy to discuss your original point of wear and tear on RBs throughout the league.

If you want to play your silly games, I won't be participating.

Ability has nothing to do with offense. Hurd is very good.. The other two are a step above..

So BYU plays Missouri this weekend. Normally, if Missouri were to cancel the game, they would have to pay BYU 1 million dollars. However, BYU has said they will waive the fee.

This has become a political joke.

All these number are guess for the sake of the discussion but IMO are fair ones to use. As I said I wish there was stat for total plays played

I am saying Hurd is playing 90% plays on offense.

We run more plays per game I am guessing than Bama or lsu and henry and fournette play 75% of the plays.

We run 80plays a game and they run 70.

That means Hurd plays 72 plays a game vs the other 2 playing 62.

Over the course of the season that's over a 100 more hits of wear and tear on those plays the other 2 are watching on the sidelines

Over an extra game played for Hurd

Edit: looked up plays per game. We and Bama both run 75 plays a game. Lsu 62

I'm gonna be PISSED if we get screwed out of a game.
