At the time of my post, we had 4 wins. We now have 5 wins....it takes 6 wins in any given season to become bowl eligible. This is 2015, not 2014. Math.
Appreciate the support 18, but your quoting that ****** led me to actually, inadvertently, read his post....ugh. Have him and 1 other on ignore so as to improve my VN experience.
That's a weird way to frame it since the post implies that being bowl eligible is the team's goal (and the "just" implies that it hasn't happened yet). Pretty sure that's 9-4.
I didn't "imply" or "frame" anything. The post I responded to said Jones meant it'll take 6-7 years to build a dynasty....I simply said that with 4 wins, we're still trying to get bowl eligible in his 3rd season as coach, i.e., in 2015. You're reading more into the post and assigning your own meaning to it.
Anyone that thinks 3 years is enough to have a great program, you're dreaming, can you point to even one Great Coach, that has turned around a Top Ranked team in 3 years???
If you can, well, then, I guess CBJ is enjoying his $3,000,000.00++/year salary and will for at least 3 more.
I guess what frustrates me is seeing teams like Arkansas or Florida get those "signature" wins. And time and again we come away with moral victories. We had OU whipped. We had UF whipped. We had Bama on the ropes. We did beat UGA but they were on their way down the elevator shaft. It just seems that over and over and over we cannot find whatever it is to overcome and get a big win. Getting tired of the Cubs "wait until next year" mantra.
Just to be clear, Arkansas "signature win" was against a team that got trashed by the same team we mostly dominated in Florida and also got trashed by Memphis? So their "signature win" has one less loss than us? And Florida's "signature wins" were THAT SAME Ole Miss team and...?...?...?
Us?
What zactly you b******* about?
