I'm not saying I don't believe you but I would like a source in the pres offering a meeting to the student.
I would think there would be serious ramifications for Missouri in the SEC if they do not complete the season. And yes that could be something that may have to happen.
You call liberals loony while you ignore historical facts. That was easy to comprehend. If you honestly believe that today's democrat party is the same as it was pre 1960's you are either ignorant or just willfully turning a blind eye to history to push your BS agenda.
Of all of the states in the US, I would have never thought of Missouri as being the target of racial strife.
Lol. Bs agenda? Everything I stated was fact. Your nonsense has already been debunked since our last exchange. You are completely clueless on this topic or maybe it's you with a bs agenda. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I'm just not going to sit idly by and let people pass off bs as fact. Kinda like 'white male right extremeist' is this country's biggest terrorist threat.
Why is this? Are you saying because Republicans have switched with Dems and are now racist? Or is it because the Dems are now the supporters of minorities with all the programs they have put in place to secure their votes?
I'm reserving any opinion on the football players' abstinence from competition and even the black student league's list of demands due to the fact that I'm not fully aware of the situation or of the reality on the ground there in Columbia, Missouri.
I will, however, say that the graduate student doing the hunger strike in protest has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of in my life. That individual has been watching too many movies. While I'm not fully cognizant of all the nuances of the matter, I'm pretty damn confident that a hunger strike is a pathetic and ridiculous response to whatever real grievances their may be.
Hunger strikes should only be reserved for when you're protesting a government's policies of ethnic cleansing or political imprisonment, or when you're protesting having been kept confined for an inordinate amount of time without charge or due process. Not because of a perceived inhospitable racial climate on a public college campus, as bad as that may be.
He should opt to live in the trees...ala Cal Berkeley students circa 2006-2007.
"Structural racism"?
You either have no idea what that means or you are using it incorrectly in this case
That sounds about like something those knuckleheads would do.
I sometimes like to (sort of) joke with my students out here concerning the historical irony of Berkeley being the birthplace of both the counter-culture/left academia movements and the atomic bomb and nuclear America (and via extension, the Cold War). It's almost paradoxical.
Really is quite staggering to reflect upon sometimes.
