Missouri Players Go On Strike (merged)

Completely dismissive...

Why couldn't the school discuss the historical importance of Thomas Jefferson and then offer some sort of educational program to improve the future? Seems like there is a rather expansive range of ideas between being dismissive and tearing down a statue of one of the founding fathers.

Its called US History 101, we're all required to take it.

I'm proud of the black players of mizzou. Standing up to structural racism is tough. Hopefully this shows more athletes that they have the power to stand up to injustice.

So this is about a statue that has been around forever, a crap swastika on a wall, and a few guys yelling the N word? Really? I would yank their scholarships. I expected their to be an actual issue where this president messed up, but this is a witch hunt in a state that's lost it's mind.

You brought them up

I didn't bring up X. I responded to someone who did. He/she justified the need for AA Studies degree programs with needing to learn about Malcom X because basic history classes won't talk about him. The same can be said for extreme, hateful whites throughout history.

Bringing politics into college football will have a detrimental effect on the sport. Look how strikes diminished major league baseball.

That's exactly my thoughts. It would be different if people were making effigies of lynching's and vandalizing things with the N word or some actually factually racist **** like that and the president was silent but simply an isolated incident of the N word being yelled once, a statue of the architect of the declaration of independence, and a swastika made of **** (which could totally be interpreted as an indictment on racism. A swastika made of feces clearly means that hatred of someone based on racism is a **** belief guys. See I interpreted it positively.) does not an issue with systemic and systematic racism make.

So in summary; if an idiotic, struggling, racist fecal artist creates his own version of the Mona Lisa and there are no whinny, oppressed, liberal students there to smell it does it still stink? Smh.....

I'm still trying to find the systematic racism in this country.

I wanted to reply as well, but I was concerned that I might unwittingly include a microaggressive phrase that Xe would have been offended, insulted, threatened, or marginalized by.

So the president offered to set up a meeting with the hunger strike guy, and he declined.

Hmm... wonder why. If they were interested in an actual dialogue you would think they would, you know, start the dialogue.

I've learned not to capitulate to the SJWs. Bring them to the debate table. Most of their beliefs don't stand to scrutiny like the idea there's widespread systematic racism in the United states. When they refuse to debate and call you names, you know you've won because they have no true argument.

I'm not saying I don't believe you but I would like a source in the pres offering a meeting to the student.

Actually, I think I was getting it from a source a few days old. He finally DID meet with the hunger strike guy and a few others on Friday, but that didn't seem to help matters any.

What structural racism? Have you read there's syructural racism being practiced at Mizz? Post the link

If Missouri boycotts the rest of the football season, the SEC should remove them from the conference.

I would think there would be serious ramifications for Missouri in the SEC if they do not complete the season. And yes that could be something that may have to happen.
