Missouri Players Go On Strike (merged)

Didn't ted nugent threaten to kill the president, haven't two repub congressmen been outed as kkk members.

Again, what's  is you think you have a point because you simply made a comment. Where is the back up to this? What is the context of any comments made? Which group out these congressmen? And while you k-town queen are all worried about 'white terrorist' there is a group of people that has a cult that they pass of as a religion in which they want to install Sharia Law and control the world. It amazes me how many simpletons we have populating the earth these days.

Those would actually have been democrats. Byrd from WV I know for sure. Actually most of the governments in the South during the civil rights movement were democrats. It was actually a Republican president that sugned the emancipation proclamation. Go figure...

Yep. Another failure by the loony liberals. It was the democratic party that wanted to continue slavery even after the Civil War. This is what gave rise to the KKK. But why believe the truth when you can blindly follow a lie?

racism towards white people...

This forum never disappoints me

Well, women gun for white men. Black people gun for white men. Hispanics gun for white men. Homosexuals gun for white men. Despite making up a lower percent of the population, they think all jobs should have the same amount of everything; white men, women, black people, hispanic, homosexuals/transgenders etc. And now Obama wants male genitalia in a high school girls locker room in Chicago. Even though none of the girls are okay with that but oh well, transgenders are the minority so everyone has to cave or it's prejudice.

So, yep.... white males are the target by everyone pretty much. How about white males stand up for themselves and tell every last one of those groups made up of one gender and one race that that their causes this day in age are bulls***. Oh, but if white people do that it's called the KKK, right?

Here's a couple stories for you. About 10 years ago I went to a jazz music festival in Iowa. A bunch of black guys were calling my friends crackers and I crackers, and told us we should get out of there. They wanted to fight but we were outnumbered and left. Then a couple years later on my way into Subway, I was with one friend(I was in a back brace). About 6 shirtless black guys or so called us white boys and said they were going to kick our ass. Yep... none of that is racist. Guess I should have snitched to the news about how racist all these black people were towards me.

I love how you put the term unemployment. This joker is pulling in a six( 7?) figure salary. He'll be OK. The buck stops with him. I have friends at Mizzou. The atmosphere is rife with racial tension and has been escalating for months. He has done absolutely nothing other than putting out pious statements.

You should tell your friends to stop causing it then. Based off your comments, you'd join in with complaining about non-sense too.

Fight for what you believe in. Take a stand. These players give me hope for this generation

Okay, I will take a stand. I'll gather up people of any race who think feminists, blacks lives matter, bglt etc. are all a bunch of people who only care about their own interests. If you all think it's so bad here, go help the Muslim and Indian women that are forced into marriage and raped. Go help the starving Africans. People representing those groups have everything they need in this country but all they do is b****, b****, b****. More, more, more.

And this is coming from someone who is disabled, never had family who went to college and has gotten help from the government. I've been able to survive on SSI at points of my life when needed and the government would probably blow me if I asked them to at this point as long as I claimed some stupid non-sense with a group of people willing to support said non-sense.

Ya know what, I don't care about any of your causes anymore. If you haven't noticed, a lot of people are switching sides because they're sick of this non-sense. Believe it or not, I wanted Hillary to win 8 years ago. Now, I hope you get to enjoy Ben Carson as president. Weird that I'd vote for a black guy when I'm some white privileged male. At least he'll tell you what you don't want to hear unlike Obama who encourages these groups of parasites.

This is just complete nonsense. You think anyone on campus gives a **** about football right now?

Do you think I give a f*** about firing a college president over something he didn't do? It's a rhetorical question. You know I don't.

Remember when Michael Browns parents went on national television prior to the verdict to tell everyone not to riot if the verdict goes against them. Immediately following the verdict, his family jumped on a car and started yelling to burn the place down. Which, they did. Then when they talked to people around the community they said they better rebuild or they'll destroy more. Real peaceful... Michael Brown was peaceful too when he was manhandling a store clerk as he stole some swishers. That's peace?

Okay... I'm out. Just remember, if all whites gather, it's the KKK. If all black people or women gather as they condemn white people for being racist and men for being misogynist, it's okay because there are fewer of them. Ever think that maybe you have all have it so easy now that you can b**** about it while your black brothers and feminist sisters are overseas with no help in a places that are truly horrifying? The horrible white-man that brings all opposing races and genders down, the ones who listen to you whine about it as you get your way. Lets see women overseas stand up and whine for their rights. They'll be raped and beheaded. But what do you care, you only care about what helps you even though you have all the help you need. Keep on asking for more when it comes to yourself though. Greedy fly.

I don't think they want the president to stop people from using racial slurs. They seem to want the president to stand up for racial equality and say that this is not what the University is about. They want Mizzou to set the example for its own students who are acting racist. They want to be respected, not thrown under the rug.

Treated equally doesn't mean you get preferential treatment

But it does. We hear how we need more black football and basketball coaches. More black baseball players.

I think football needs more Asian players and women. Let's rally together and b**** til we get our way.

I call dibs on the opposite of hunger strike. I'm gonna eat as much as I can every single day until they change the rules or I have a fart attack.

We have african-american study courses because a lot of famous black people are left out of our history classes. Hell, I never heard a discussion on Malcolm X until an english class in college. Some of the most interesting MLK theories - technological singularity or food insecurity - aren't ever mentioned in history courses.

And yes, post-racism America. This is probably why all young black people are being treated appropriately by police - arrested AND given a trial, and not being shot in the chest 10 times or choked out on a street corner in broad daylight.

Even if you guys disagree with their cause, at least give them props for standing up for what they believe in. These guys aren't beating up their girlfriends or off-duty cops in a club. Vilifying players for wanting THEIR UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT to be an observant and intelligent person is silly.

That's not a "black America" problem. Police brutality is an America problem that happens regardless of race and is rooted in authoritarianism. Are there some racist cops? You bet they are but they are individuals being racist and not the cards being purposely stacked against black people. When 50% of the murders in a country are committed by 15% or so of the population, that portion of the population might have a cultural problem that needs to be addressed. These college students are in the best place to be able to effect that cultural problem but the left has indoctrinated them in school to believe that a mythical white privilege exists. It doesn't. The only unfair advantage in this country is wealth.

One study done in the UK on white students underperforming doesn't forgive the disproportionate amount of blacks who are arrested and abused by police, put in prison for absurd amounts of time for small drug charges, and how women struggle to keep their reproduction rights.

Honestly, it's a class issue as much as it is a race issue. You want to use these young kids failing as a tool to dismiss all racism? By all means do so, but at least acknowledge the fact that poor people are robbed of a lot of opportunities in our country.

I got a dui when I had just started college for marijuana. I wasn't high and let him search my car cause I knew I had nothing on me. He found a gram from my senior year of high school cause I was using the same bag. He took me in, had me piss and since weed was in my system, gave me a dui. I don't know why my white male privilege didn't come in handy then. Unfortunate.

Mizzu AD should man up and threaten to have them kicked off the team if they do not show up, problem solved. Just inmates trying to run the asylum.

That's exactly what should happen. I'm pretty sure you feel that way about our multi-cultural athletes as well.

You, sir, are part of the problem.

They wouldn't be doing this if they were in the hunt to play in the SECCG this year. They suck. Protesting the president isn't going to help them.

I would agree that it starts very young when it comes to oppression of those who are poor or live in poor areas. Teachers don't want to work in poor areas. They are likely to receive less money. They feel less safe. It may be a hike for them to get to work. Then you have the influx of Teach for America teachers who are fresh out of college...that doesn't necessarily help. It brings in teachers, but it doesn't bring in great teachers who can help these people overcome issues as well as others could. Poor kids' life trajectories are affected by where they grow up because of the level of education they are able to get. I fail to believe that you can get the same kind of teachers at Houston or Collierville that you can get at East or Whitehaven.

Are you gonna give us the search of "white devil domestic terrorism"?

It will be from that New American Foundation study in which they cherry pick the years post 9/11. It doesn't account for the heightened security that occurred after 9/11. It doesn't account for Muslim terrorism pre 9/11. And it categorizes people who happen to be white and Muslim into the white bucket just to name a few fallacies of the study of which there is many. It doesn't factor in the worldwide epidemic of Islamic terrorism which is responsible for over 80% of all terrorism. It doesn't factor in that the U.s. only constitutes 2% of global terrorism. This would suggest while we do have isolated incidents we have been fairly well protected up to this point in time. 16% of that chart is referred to as 'other'. An example of a problem with this are incidents such as the Chattanooga shooting are classified as 'other' instead of being properly categorized. Another point to note is that this group is funded by George Soros and is heavily influenced by Obama being that the 'think tank' is located in Washington D.C. It's more the same bs false narrative to divert our attention to a perceived problem so that we completely ignore the real problem.

On a lighter note, the only person I've ever known that benefitted from affirmative action was a white guy from incredible wealth. Conveniently for him and his siblings, their dad was from South Africa. Throw in some slightly above average test scores and he went to Harvard and his sister went to Duke Medical.

People in power at universities don't always do their homework, I guess.

Drug crimes aren't exclusively a black problem. Women reproductive rights... I wasn't aware murdering your child was a right but that's not the point if this thread. A disproportionate amount of blacks are arrested and "abused" because a disproportionate amount of blacks commit violent crime and then violently resist when confronted by the police.

Also poor folks aren't "robbed" of opportunity in this country. They just have to try harder. My family was pretty damn poor growing up but I worked hard and got a rather large scholarship offer to Carson Newman and now have a bachelor's degree. Opportunity is there for those who work and know that they are their best ally and worst enemy.

I can see this, and I can see why this would upset some Mizzou students. But from the outside looking in, if this is what has precipitated the response, the outcry seems somewhat disproportionate to the offense. Especially considering that Wolfe's condemnations probably wouldn't have solved very much in regards the root issue.

If I had to guess, I would say this is the reason they aren't receiving more sympathy on this board.

Malcom X is more extreme on the other side than Nathan Bedford Forrest and other prominent KKK guys were. We don't spend anytime on those guys either. Maybe it's the American way to try and wipe out any semblance of history that's not unicorns running across rainbow dotted meadows.

Im not going to debate the merit's of police. There's plenty of ****ty ones and plenty of good ones. Plenty of racist ones and plenty of non-racist ones. It's a microcosm of the real world we live in.
