Although there's another thread or two concerning Russia now, this is still my go-to for Russia miscellany for the time being.

On that note, if any of you are interested, I recently located a free subscription site, written by Russia scholars based out of Moscow. They provide articles and monthly PDF newsletter downloads. This month's concerns Russia's strategy in Syria and the Middle East, while last month's concerned Russia's frozen conflicts in the Near Abroad, as just two examples.

All you have to do is register. It should be free, and, as far as I can tell, the only time they will bother you will be with weekly/monthly emails simply concerning site content notifications. If you find that you're not allowed to register for free, let me know, because I first located the site through a paid subscription service. I can tell you how to proceed then if need be, but I'm fairly confident it's a free site regardless.

The list of 100 richest Ukrainians succeeds in reflecting trends within the Ukrainian economy - those engaged in industrial production, real estate, and high technology can not boast of growth, while those who deal with drugs and food feel fine. This is probably the saddest conclusion that can be drawn after reading the ranking.

You'd think they'd like Israel more since it got a lot of Russian Jews out of Russia, as the tsars always hoped for, one way or the other.

But, alas, centuries of hatred and propaganda about Christian-eating Jews is hard to erase.

You seem to have a 19th and 20th Century understanding of warfare and strategy.

I'm sorry is Israel calling for the extermination of Muslims? Last I checked there was an agreement in place that Hamas, PLF, and Hezbollah consistently violates.

This is the second effort some members of the Duma have taken to "Russify" the Russian Far East. So far, the proposed measures haven't gained any steam with the parliament.

There's somewhere between 20-30 million Russian citizens east of the Urals, making geographic Russia much larger than inhabited Russia. Cut those figures roughly in half, and you have the entire population of the Russian Far East, standing somewhere around 15 million or so.

Meanwhile, right across the Ussuri and the Amur, sit well over 150 million Chinese in Manchuria alone, all of them hungry for energy resources and their nation's water needs increasingly difficult to meet.

These Duma members supporting these initiatives will obviously never admit it, but methinks the above has a lot to do with the below.

Because it's relevant, that's why! I simply showed that israel was censoring opposition like the Russians. Some how, Russia being the jew haters they are, became an excuse for israel, or am I wrong?

You brought up Israel, which had nothing to do with the Crimean Tatars, as a deflection, and Sergeant responded by identifying the antisemitism that permeates many Russians' (since you posted a Russian news site) world outlook, specifically regarding Israel.

No, Russia doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Israel, but neither does Israel necessarily have anything to do with Russia.

Honestly, when you wield the kind of power his executive does in a country has large as Russia and with a stockpile of some 5,000 or so nukes, how could you be anything but the most powerful man on Earth?

Now, if the US government was a person (kind of like how Russia is in reality a quasi-Putin and Putin a quasi-Russia), I'd say he or she would have to be the most powerful. But the US government obviously isn't a person.

You finally admitted the Federation for what it is: a state no better than Israel.

Took your absolute loathing of Israel to get you to finally come to your senses. But at least it was productive. You now see the world and Russia in a new light.
