Kiffin seems like a perfect match for UCF. He won't get Miami, but I think UCF may be a better job at this point. I guess it depends on how bad the roster is. I think the team is better than their incoming 0-12 record, but maybe not.

That's what I thought. I even thought he was the head coach in waiting. Guess not

I would think that would be the best and most economical choice. Pay Beamer his buyout, if needed since he's "retiring", keep the rest of the staff, or upgrade where necessary and hire a co-defensive coordinator. Done deal.

Could definitely see it. If he goes to a state/area with good recruiting grounds, he'll kill it and be at a top job in 3-5 years.

Do they really want to be economical and have more of the same? I'd be going hardcore after Tom Herman, no matter which job we are talking about.

Eh I'd hesitate to hire a first year HC if I'm a big time school, you never know if their success is legit after just a year. Whittingham, Fuentes are my top 2 calls if I'm making the hire. The temple coach has made that program decent too.

Kiffin getting UCF would give Daniel Tosh endless comedic fodder, since that's his alma mater. In fact, I think it all but guarantees a meeting between the two and the internet exploding.

Tosh's Kiffin skits are beyond hilarious!!
Why is he such an ASU homer tho, I just presumed that was his alma.

My guess is you are just guessing because of the type of job. Tom Bowen, the AD at Memphis, does not appear to be the type to gamble on Kiffin. He is a smart guy.

I just assumed since Coach Cal was a doucher, they'd love to hire another doucher that would bring results

Different AD. But Cal is a successful doucher. Kiffin is a doucher, who hasn't sustained any success. Big difference.

Kiffin seems to be mentioned for USF a lot. He of course has a lot of ties to Tampa. Geoff Collins, the UF DC, seems to be the leading candidate for UCF. He used to be the DC there.

Then it's on the SEC. They are making millions and millions of dollars but evidently don't care what the on-field product looks like as long as we fans keep ponying up. They should make it a full time job or at least pay enough for it to be an incentive to be better at their job

You are absolutely correct. The league should take what ever steps necessary to insure competent officiating. They make too much money not to insure that.

Little disgusted by the targeting penalty last night. I don't have a problem with the flag being thrown, the problem I have is that a bean bag wasn't thrown at the same time. Then they compounded it by not correcting the call on the replay. If your going to cost a player his playing time, then there should be an additional review after the game. It was clear the intent was not malicious, in fact, he did everything he could to not hit him in the head. I know this isn't CBJ's style, but this is one time I think he should call the refs out despite the fine. Besides making a point about the bad call, it would show that he wants the players to stay aggressive and he has their backs. JMO.

I wonder if they didn't reverse the call because they knew they'd f'd the whole play up? Easier to just confirm the call than to admit they'd botched the fumble.

Man we were good last night.

Just now seeing all of the game. All 3 phases complete domination.

Coach Elder with the ST needs some high praise. Never in my lifetime can I remember a better Return team on KO and Punt.

I remember Gault and Dale Carter being special but damn we are incredible.

Coverage teams have been pretty solid too.

I agree. His inaccuracy was very apparent last night. He missed some wide open receivers very badly, it was driving me nuts! Then he gets lucky and hits Malone on a 75-yarder. It's always an adventure when Dobbs throws it down the field

Good freaking grief. All we have heard is Dobbs cant throw it downfield. And when he makes a beautiful throw for a 75 yard bomb, it has to be luck? Dobbs inaccuracy? Maybe you should go and compare Dobbs completion % against UK to that of Paxton Lynch's against Tulane :eek:lol:.

Dobbs just cannot win with some of this fan base. I mean the guy is one of the most electric QBs in the country with the ball in his hands and he gets more respect and admiration from the media than some Tennessee fans. Sad.
