Weathered plays much more against spread teams and mobile QBs. Bet he plays more this week
Yea, but even against spread teams he really hasn't shown up this season. Hope he does now. He's got the speed to beat OL's and sack QB's.
Speaking of spread teams, hoping that doesn't mean more Jumper. Kirkland should have it down by now..
I saw that, too. Honestly it made me clinch up more. Kiffin didn't expose him, but I thought here's the time to do it. He did ok for the short period of playing time.
Give me Richt forever. The right guy could kill at Georgia.
I think he has done a very solid job in coverage minus the holding calls vs OU. He just lacks any play making ability to bring down rushers. So He has to be a specialist but can help occasionally IMO

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but it has never happened. Richt has had a pretty good run, and has had teams that were loaded, and UGA still never has been consistently dominant.
Just throwing this out there but could you imagine if Richt jumped ship to South Carolina?
I don't see some up-and-comer just waltzing into Athens and turning UGA into a powerhouse.
Richt is a good coach. Hell, he's a GREAT coach. He's 141-50. He has slipped slightly in recent years, but not to Fulmer 2008 level by any means.
A lot of people think that UGA is a guaranteed 10+ win team every year with the right coach, but that's not really true for any school. Things could easily be much, much worse for the Dawgs. In fact, I think that the chances of a non-established coach being an upgrade over Richt are very slim. And unlike Fulmer, Richt would have a ton of job offers if he got fired tomorrow and wanted to stay in coaching.
If UGA does make a move, they better be ready to hire their own Saban. Richt has UGA operating at about 85% of their potential, but there are a hell of lot more coaches out there who will fall short of that standard than there are coaches who can improve on his track record.
Don't see him moving over to S. Carolina. It'd be crazy if he did. I think he bails out of football all together. Be an analyst, regroup, maybe get back into coaching if it's the right job. Have no idea. Would love for GA to hire a bad coach, so we can grab all the best athletes from there.
