Now that we are over halfway through the season, which of the vols do you think could be up for all-sec honors?

Potential shots at first team selection:

Dobbs
JRM
Barnett
Evan Berry

Potential shots at 2nd/3rd team selection:

The four listed above, should they not be selected for first team, of course. But also:
Sutton
Hurd
Kerbyson
Thomas
Wolf
Daniel

Thoughts?

Don't see anyway Barnett gets on either team unless he had a monster finish stats wise

Well I know his stats are technically down (minus the Oklahoma game I think it was? Where he had so many tackles)

But then I was thinking, the coaches planning for and playing against us know how monstrous he is and thus could garner votes that way. Plus as we all know he gets held more than a newborn baby

Even Berry is a lock, imo. Barnett will need to pick up his production to be 1st team. Hurd might get an honorable mention or even 2nd team, now that Chubb is hurt if he goes crazy these last few games.

I don't know about Dobbs...he might be in the running but...I don't know.

Oh yeah. Not sure why I didn't put Hurd on the 2nd/3rd team discussion. I think that's a possibility. Fournette and Henry are above him for the honors at this time. And then you have someone like collins at Arkansas that is having a decent year as well.

And on Dobbs, the sec is just down this year with QBs. Prescott is probably the only one that would possibly place above Dobbs. The Allen QBs (Kyle and Brandon) might could get in the discussion

JRM and Berry are the only chance at first team. If JRM isn't first team they should just stop even trying.

Second/Third team: Sutton, Hurd, maybe Dobbs, just because QB play is really bad in the SEC this year. Barnett isn't anywhere near All-SEC this year.

I answered with some thoughts on Barnett above. I agree he's likely to not be first team. But thought he might could enter the discussion at least

On Dobbs I think he's got a pretty decent shot at first team, Dak Prescott being the most likely to potentially get it above him.

There are just too many good defensive ends in the conference this year. Barnett's numbers just aren't there. Unless he go bonkers in the last five games.

Dak will absolutely be first team, and id say Dobbs would be competing with the kid from LSU and maybe Coker for 2nd/3rd team.

Oh and Chad Kelly too, definitely. Forgot about him.

I think our remaining schedule helps Dobbs, if he lights it up the last 5 games he could make a case also because the overall QB play is down in the SEC.

I don't think Dobbs is anywhere near making first team all-SEC. My guess is he might make 3rd, and maybe 2nd if he goes off the last 5 games, but 2nd is a longshot.

You may be right. We'll see. His Florida and UGA games were very impressive. And our last five games should boost his stats.

Looking at the games tonight, I saw where UNC is 6-1?! Their only loss is to the terrible South Carolina.

And looking at their remaining schedule (Pitt, duke, Miami, va tech, nc state) , it is definitely possible they could go 11-1 in the regular season.

Craziness.

So your saying we should beat their azz in the MCB.

UNC should have won that South Carolina game...both teams were trying to give it away

The joys of playing in the ACC.
