His mechanics are all jacked up. I saw a picture of his follow through where his leg was pointing dead left.
I think he is trying to kill the ball. I hate that circular motion. Just like golf, you will spray it all over the course. But every now and then crush one down the middle of the fairway. He needs consistency.
I think he will fix it but in the meantime I would give Toser a look.
What a freaking joke

Butch is saying he's hitting those kicks in practice, so I would agree its probably consistency and not trusting his fundamentals in a live game.
Wait, i thought Michigan state was in that division as well, and Iowa in the other division.
Edit: yea, I'm right.
I may get criticized for this, and it doesn't mean that I am against finding a cure for cancer. I have had multiple family members either have had or passed away from cancer. But, a uniform policy is in place for a reason, and any time they blur the lines (regardless of reason), then other players will want to wear something, too. There has to be a line drawn. I have a required dress as a professional, and while I could wear a lapel pin or tow supporting a cause, there are certain things that I cannot wear regardless of what it promotes.
Now, if they agreed to allow it and are now fining him, that is wrong. JMO.
A big reason Medley is trying to kick the hell out of the ball is that Butch keeps sending him out there for 50+ yarders. He's been put in a lot of bad spots this year. Not exactly good for a struggling kicker.

Butch keeps sending him out there because the leg strength isn't the problem. I am guessing Butch wouldn't send Daniel Lincoln out to attemp those kicks. You have to trust your leg. It is very much like golf. If you average 300 yard drives, then you don't need to try to hit the hell out of the ball. Trust your swing and the length and accuracy will be fine.
Right, but if you're in a funk, hitting a layup or a free throw is a lot easier than a three pointer (I see your analogy and raise you an analogy!). He needs to make a couple of easier kicks and get his confidence back before he keeps being sent out to make 50 yarders.
My point is, go for it on 4th down at that spot on the field Butch. Stop setting up your kicker to fail when he's already in a funk.
I figured that's what they would do with the fine. I know it's near and dear to you as well. At some point, we will find a cure.
Well, then his criticism should be pointed at the offense for not getting past the 35 yard line. Needs some help from his teammates to hit that open layup.
But, he also missed a chipshot in the Arkansas game.
Totally agree. The offense needs to stop shrinking once we get past the 40 yard line. Keep attacking. Take shots downfield.
And yep, he's just been struggling since game 1. He was bad against Bowling Green. That's why I'm saying it's not a new thing, so Butch should stop sending him out there for 50+ yarders and setting him up for tons of criticism and hate. It only makes it worse at this point.
I agree though.
