Phil Steele has been tracking starters' injuries and how it effects year to year record changes.
In the last 8 years, when teams have lost 34 starts to injury, they have a 70% chance of improving their record the next year.
So, let's add them up.
Maggitt = 11 starts lost
J. Robertson = 1 start lost (so far)
B. Kendrick = 5 starts lost (Alabama onward)
North = 1 start lost
Gaulden = 12 starts lost
That's 30. Then you get into the gray areas with Tuttle (was he starting?) and McNeil.
EDIT: Marcus Jackson is another 12. That's 42 before Tuttle and McNeil.
Slim to none I'm assuming. Anyone arrested for climbing in a window to a woman's house, getting naked, and her calling the cops on him will likely have a tough time getting a college head coaching gig. He's better off in the NFL where he seems to be killing it
With Henry likely gone after this year, and Chubb facing a possibly long rehabilitation. Is Hurd the 2nd best RB in the conference after Fournette?
Dobbs has to best the preseason 1st team QB next year with Prescott gone.
If JRM is back he may be the top defensive player in the conference with Nkemdiche, Ragland, and Hargreaves gone. Garrett would be the only other guy I can think of and he is just a SO.
.
I think Butch has done well in keeping them focused on the game ahead and nothing else...
That said, I do think they were a bit off after the FLorida loss, but the fan base/media went insane and wanted to fire their coach and was accusing him of beating up players.
