I've learned in my time as a UT fan to not count any wins before they happen. That said, there's not reason UT shouldn't win the rest of these games. They'll need to keep the edge they have and not buy into these games being any "easier."
.
I think Butch has done well in keeping them focused on the game ahead and nothing else...
That said, I do think they were a bit off after the FLorida loss, but the fan base/media went insane and wanted to fire their coach and was accusing him of beating up players.

I've seen a couple people mention Verne's blatant disregard for bias when it comes to Bama. I'm not one who cares about stuff like that, but even I was shaking my head all game.

On one 3rd down conversion for Bama, which was a pass toward the sideline, he literally screamed "YESSS!" like he was sitting with his buddies and had $20,000 on the game. Ridiculous.

I played soccer in HS and a small walking stint in college. Pointing toward the target was key in accuracy from distance. It's simply squaring up. I assume FG kicking has the same idea

Biggest mistake was turning down a soccer scholarship coming out of high school. Me dummy. Yes, pointing towards target with plant foot and squaring up for accuracy. Lean back more for height. Lean over ball for more power and very low trajectory. Medley's mechanics are off. Really hope that kid turns it around for the rest of the season.

Same, why would his foot be pointed so far sideways?

Yes, I wonder how many people turn down the sound when CBS is on.

I think Malik Foreman has the skills to play well at nickel, but remember we have RG back next year, with probably Abernathy in that slot also.

I talked to someone close to Foreman today and complemented him on his play this weekend (I hadn't always been so complimentary, but always respectful and constructive - I see this person every weekday) and he said "Malik's getting more comfortable at nickel, but you know he's out of position... He's used to having the ball in his hands.. He'd love to be in the slot and fielding kicks/punts." Of course he acknowledged we are in great shape at returner, but it validates Butch's thoughts about moving him over in camp. He was an athletic QB in high school, as many of our most dynamic athletes were.

Odds Jim Bob Cooter is our HC in the next 20years?

1 in 4 IMO

It's certainly possible

Edit:1/4 is a little high

Thanks for the post. Confirms what I think when I see him on the field. Malik always appears to me to be about the running - not so much as an aggressive battler against the opposing receiver. Offensive versus defensive mindset. Action versus reaction. This was the same issue Teague had. Malik is much faster than he was. I would give him a shot at the slot come spring if the roster is in good shape at d-back.

I think Danielson might actually be a good commentator if they gave him a decent partner. Having Verne as a partner would bring anybody down.

Verne is just getting old. My parents grew up in Dallas, and Verne was viewed as a very good announcer years ago. When Danielson started with the SEC, I thought he was good and still think he is ok. I was a little perturbed at Danielson saying that Bama needed a week off, as that was the reason why they were playing like they were.

When gary said JRM was the best player on the field I gained a lot of respect for him actually

When he said that he also said that JRM could be the best player on the field in every game. Was very suprised to hear him say that

Slim to none I'm assuming. Anyone arrested for climbing in a window to a woman's house, getting naked, and her calling the cops on him will likely have a tough time getting a college head coaching gig. He's better off in the NFL where he seems to be killing it

My wife, who rarely ever listens to whats being said during a game, even asked if Verne was an alabama fan.
On bamas first td, he screams "Touchdown Alabma...", and then we march rightn doen the field and score, hes calmy says "Touchdown pass good to Josh Smith..." Or something to that extent. Undeniable bias with that one!!

Would love to see us get to 8-4, and then get matched up with Penn State or Michigan in a bowl game. Think we would boat race both.

My hunch is that Michigan would be a great match up, much better the Penn St. in terms of proving trajectory.
