I am struggling to understand from some posters how Z is doing such a bad job when there were only 22 passes actually thrown against UA, of which 13 were complete and several were bad throws that could have even been intercepted when the receiver was open. If one adds in the 5 sacks, most of which were made quickly without Dobbs having much chance to find a receiver, and possibly a couple of times he pulled it down on called passes; that's maybe 30 potential attempts, which is not a lot on which to base the accusation. In the last game there was all the happy talk about the improvement of the receivers and giving Butch all the credit. So if they are back to being subpar, doesn't Butch share in that bad stuff with Z?

Weird.

Glad you weighed in. I was asking all posters

So if all are healthy who starts?

63 is out for sure IMO

Now the next one out is hard. IMO 71 is next man out but that one is tough

I agree - 71 IMO. But I am not 100% convinced either.

Perhaps the most ignorant rule I have ever seen in the nfl game there

Smdh

The catch all the way to the ground is getting dumb, too. I couldn't hear everything said, but there was a replay earlier in the game where Ginn caught a pass, hit the ground, lost the ball and picked off by Philly. Upheld as an INT. That rule is totally different than the rest of the rules. And the Dez Bryant no catch still pisses me off.

For what it's worth, Mel Kiper just said: "Tennessee is the greatest 3-4 team in the history of college football." #Vols

That makes me both sad and happy.
How is that possible?

To me, the passing game and WR's have looked much better in both of the last 2 games. I thought it was fine against Bama. Sure, we only had 14 points, but we missed 3 FG's. It means we moved the ball but got bogged down when we hit Bama's 30-35. You don't get as many possessions against Bama because of their running game. To an amateur's eye, I think it's much better and expect to start rolling the next 5 games.

Yes, the penalty carries with it a loss of down. At least according to the white hat yesterday.

As it should.

In the nfl game it didn't. 5 yards and replay the down.

Seems to me it Should just be ruled incomplete and move on to the next play

Perhaps my wording was poor.

Our OL lost the line of scrimmage for sure IMO. Now I think we all assumed that would happen but it did happen.

I guess what I was asking was was that due to hall/jones?

I don't think so but I am just hoping the staff won't see it that way and insert 63 back in there when healthy

I guess I remember Kendrick/Weisman performances when I say no.

If anyone thinks Danielson knows anything, he bragged on the freshmen's performance.

That makes me both sad and happy.

It's true... because we could just as easily be 7-0 as 3-4. We've dropped a lead in 3 of 4 games in the final few minutes. It's almost statistically impossible and surely unprecedented. I'm surprised some of the media researchers haven't checked and put that stat on the ESPN ticker.

The good news: we could probably play one of the top two teams from another conference in a bowl game and win. That would be fun.

I agree. I wish they threw more, just with less play action and roll outs. I want to see 50-50% balance. I want Dobbs to look primary, secondary, and then go if he can't get rid of it. He does better with his footwork on quick plays.

Does anyone in the Knoxville area watch the locker room show? I try and watch it every week. Very informative and entertaining IMO.

I wish we would have schemed some of the play action that Florida ran with Tebow. Empty backfield, set a natural pick, have one of the WRs drag across the middle, Dobbs fakes the run and pulls up and hits the guy behind the front 7.

The way Bama was selling out to stop Dobbs the play would have gone for 5-7 yards and I like Pearson or Kamara 1 on 1 with a safety.
