This is intended to be a master list of all the streaks we have hanging over us so we can strike them from the record and put them in the past as we overcome them and start new, winning ones!

In this list, I'd like to include all streaks still active, as well as all streaks broken so far in the Butch Jones Era (2013 season and on). Please provide anything I have missed below! I want this to be community-fueled, so any comments or critiques about the way I'm presenting the data are encouraged as well. Please feel free to bookmark this post. I will be updating it after every game! GO VOLS!

No kiddicking - If Alabama has no turn overs = Alabama 42, Vols 28. Vols will do damage early, possibly getting up by 10 before Henry starts getting heavy.

If Alabama has 5+ turnovers = Alabama 28, Vols 38. Bama plays much worse at home than they do on the road lately.

Tennessee has a better chance of removing the streak from their underwear than ending the losing streak to Alabama this season. Alabama is just too strong this season.

Never made this thread to predict a UT victory over Alabama! I've been meaning to make this for a while, and it is more a product to track all the streaks we are still burdened by and our progress as a team. The win over Georgia broke many streaks, and I thought what better time to do it!

Organized football may not exist for a long enough time period for us to both break those streaks and start streaks of our own.

Peyton is going to be on the Vols sideline Saturday. Tennessee has never lost with Peyton present in Tuscaloosa

I don't think anyone thought Tennessee would beat Alabama in 1982 so you never know what may happen.

Alabama is good. Their Defense is going to be one of, if not the best D we play all season. However, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, OU, all had good Defenses. We are ready to compete in this game. Writing us off as a guaranteed loss is silly.

With all the talk about meltdowns and traffic spikes this season, this forum would experience the largest traffic spike ever - more so than any loss - if UT beats Alabama.

Probably even larger than when Kiffin quit.

Also, IMO 1-2 losses isn't really a streak worth keeping track of... 3 and up is ok..

Good point. Removed. Plus, I don't think we're going to play Arkansas and Ole Miss for several more years anyway, so it's not worth tracking for that reason as well.

Bama is like Tyson, people were beat before they even stepped in the ring. Until someone whooped his ass then the Ora of invincibility was gone.

The last time I was in Tuscaloosa....... David Palmer was running the wildcat for two to tie us up (before there was a wildcat)....this was after TN held an 8 point lead with a mere 83 seconds remaining. (thanks to a 73 yard run from Charlie Garner early in the 4th)

All Alabama could do was muster a tie (which I admit at the time felt like defeat), even though TN turned the ball over 5 times. They had beaten us 7 times in a row and had won 28 straight ballgames. Alabama would end up having to forfeit every game but their bowl game that year (remember Antonio Langham).

We went on to lose to Alabama in Knoxville the next year in a tight game (17-13) but then we went on a streak of our own (seven wins straight and 9 of the next 10)

I say all that to say this. Streaks and records are meant to be broken. Time is running out for the AL dynasty, they never last forever. Yes, this would be an improbable year to stop their streak against us, but there is a reason they play the games. Maybe we catch several breaks this year and play a great 60 minute game, or maybe it's just not our year (again).

What I know for sure is that if we lose the game, I won't lose ANY sleep. On the other hand...........If AL loses, I will be looking at around 100K Alabama fans that likely won't be able to say the same thing.

Go Vols!

Just need to not have any turnovers or it will be a long game. If we keep the turnover margin low we have a chance. You never know what can happen thats why I love college football. GBO!

I take it this list was revised, so that it now looks a lot better than it did earlier.

He is only like Mike Tyson to people under 30, or people that have only watched football for the last 5-8 years. I was a student at UT and under Mike Shula we didn't even go to the games because we were gonna dominate them. and we did.

If we can not turn the ball over and turn them over, be explosive on offense, possibly score on a special teams play (either a punt return or kick return) we have a good chance to be in this game at the end. If we turn the ball over we lose, it really is that simple. They are too good of a team to give them a short field with a OL and a player like Henry.

We can compete with them. GBO!!!

I'm going to need some help here. Has Tennessee football had decade or longer losing streaks with 2 or more teams at the same time?

There is a lot of merit to this post IMO. We have scored enough points offensively this year against each opponent to have won each game. I do not believe Bammers D is lights out better than the gator D and we found ways to score against them. Our D must play their best game of the season for us to beat the Tide at their house this year. If we're within 10 points or leading going into the 4th quarter Vols win is my prediction.
