Practice updates of any kind

First all, it is not true that Jabari has a 2 inch difference in his legs. It was meant as a joke and the media ran with it. Jabari was asked about it and he played along with the joke not knowing it would hit the media. I'm in the process of getting that cleared up. I'll leave at that.

Thanks. It never sounded plausible to me that someone could perform at this level with a two inch leg differential.

I know Barnes is a practical jokester, but I'm not sure what the joke was there. That's probably why the media ran with it.

That's a fantastic sense of humor if you ask me... Messing with the media, now that's funny!

Messing with the media is great, if the joke is funny. The pie in the face was funny. The band showing up at the Assistant Coach's house was funny. I'm not sure what was funny about Jabari having one leg two inches shorter than the other. I'm betting Auntie Dee didn't think it was funny, either.

I am not sure how it all started but you can believe it'll get cleared up. It was funny at first. Now that other writers are inquiring about the story it's no longer funny.

Thats why it's called having a sense of humor.. You find things to be amusing that most people wouldn't. It didn't hurt anybody saying Jabari had a leg two inches shorter than the other, it was a harmless (and a senseless) comment that media took and ran with. Thats hilarious.

Don't think AD thought anything about it. She even used it in a humorous retort a few posts back.

Fall break for the Basketball Vols amounted to 6 hours in the gym on Saturday. Three hours of practice, three hours of scrimmage. If nothing else, our guys will be conditioned to play those 40 minutes per game.

This just seems to be further evidence that this staff has these guys conditioning at a crazy high level. I would be curious to know if that's a trait of Barnes' teams, I know his former S&C coach was considered one of the best in the country.

This team at a minimum should be pretty fun to watch, I don't see any Lofton or Smith's on this team, but Pearl's first team was predicted similarly to Barnes' and was able to exceed expectations by really turning up the tempo, looking forward to the start of the season.

You and me both. I'm really intrigued to see how Punter will take the reigns of Pg and how he will handle it when teams turn up the full court press. Excited about our new post players. And really really pumped to see an improved Mostella.

I'm sure it was an inside joke that got to the media and then it just grew legs (two legs the same size) and went from there :)

Mostella will be critical to our team if we we're wanting to run people out of the gym. Lets hope he has really turned the corner this year.

I'm still smh that folks believed Jabari had one leg 2" shorter than the other, even after seeing him play early last season. lol. Well played CRB.

Mostella should excel in this system. Not really any excuse not to with his skill set in a transition offense. Like everybody else I want to see what happens with Punter running point. He understands the game and it shows on the court. They can't be anything but better with the bigs. Really looking forward to watching it all play out with low expectations on the season.

You mentioned about being excited about new post players, well I am concerned about our post play. I am hoping Kyle Alexander is a legit 6'9 and Ray Kasongo is a legit 6'8 as listed on UT's roster because Kyle is listed at only 215lbs. Ray Kasongo is listed at 245lbs, but again at 6'8 that might be a problem against Centers in power 5 conferences as well with Kyle.

Also hope they do not get hurt or we are really in trouble!!!

Kyle is every bit of 6'9.

Health, as with any team in any sport, will be a huge factor. If this team can get lucky for once and avoid the injury bug, that would definitely be beneficial. Looking around the country you already see some guys lost for the season, and many more lost for a couple months. If Tennessee can make it through without losing anyone and being able to play the same ~9 man rotation, they can definitely surpass expectations IMO.

Only health problem I've seen so far is Baulkman.
Reports that his shoulder is still popping out.
Should have had his surgery.
