They played a team that lost 10 games last year and gave up over 600 yards. Defense wins big games. It will be interesting to see how they look against West Virginia in a couple of weeks.

You're not making sense. The two that you are praising lose games the exact same way every year. Whether they lose it due to being scared or stupidity, they still lose.

What you call coaching scared, I call it trusting his defense more so than his offense....more specifically the OL. We all know the OL has improved since last year, but isn't above average. Out defense is good....CBJ is correct to trust them as opposed to the offense. I would do the same thing. We loss, it happens. Did you have us going undefeated? If not, did you think the losses would magically appear? Would you rather we get blown out so you all could gripe about getting blown out?

We're playing a 5th yr SR, two Jr's and 2 SO's with 15 games under their belt. We would have had another 5th yr SR in Jackson starting. How much older do they need to be?

So that means EVERY coach loses...right? I'm confused why so many are upset by this loss, two weeks later. I know none of you all had us going undefeated. So how did you imagine the losses? Blowouts? Defensive struggles? Last second score to steal the win? A loss is a loss. Pine over it a day or so and move on. Two weeks later is an awful long time, especially when it was an out of conference game AND it was a toss up game. Other people are looking at y'all and laughing. Hell, I'm looking at y'all and laughing. But enough is enough.

So does that mean any success Butch has this year should be attributed to Dooley, since we are 3 years removed from him as well?

Also, saying someone is out coached by Saban isn't really a knock on anyone. It's like saying "he got smoked in a race by Usain Bolt"...well duh

Go back and show me >=90% LSU's entire roster made up of true freshmen, sophomores, & juniors and you might have a point.

Just simple minded to make this comparison.

You're basically saying Saban = Dooley.

People are not pissed we lost to OU, it's how/why we lost. I've said it before, if this game was back and forth and we're on the wrong end, I'm fine with it. If it's a blowout, I'd be disappointed but accepting that they're just a better team. However, for 2 full quarters OU didn't look like they belonged on the field with us. Then they made adjustments on defense, and Kerbyson said as much, and our staff didn't adjust with them and actually said after the game that OU didn't switch anything up. Butch is either lying or incompetent or Kerbyson is lying or incompetent. Which one is lying or incompetent?

Saban built a monster program at LSU. They were stacked and Miles inherited a very good situation. Yes some of those players were recruited by Saban - all the RS Jrs, Srs, and RS Srs.

Miles also managed to lose to Kentucky and later Arkansas (final week of reg season), yet still got to play for BCS title.

Lucky as hell is how I'd describe Les in 2007.

So JR's are too young to win? We won't be a true competitor until the roster is a 25% mix of all 4 classes? Maybe if Butch didn't lose 41% of his first class we'd have more Jr's.

My guess is Kerbyson doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Hasn't impressed me much during his time on the hill.

Been coached for 3 yrs by this amazing staff. But it's never the coaches jobs, it's all on the players. Butch makes $3.6M for making Farm Bureau and First TN commercials.

There have been numerous post and breakdowns by other posters that stated that OU DID NOT do anything different. Search for post by JP...we didn't execute in the second half, and they did. Simple as that. I would trust the coaches...calling either the coach and/or player a liar or incompetent is low class. Because you refuse to accept the fact that no adjustments were made by OU, that appears to be a personal problem.

Anyway, it's simple. Just hire better assistants.

Hell, Derek Dooley hired Sam Pittman and it was a HUGE offensive line upgrade. Surely Butch is capable of something remotely equivalent.

Granted Dooley made the worst hire in UT history with Sunseri, but again, if we are trusting Butch Jones then that sort of thing shouldn't happen, right?

I think anyone with a brain would agree that Jancek and Martinez underachieved a bit with that defense at UGA. Many people also agreed that Richt used them as a scapegoat too, so let's not forget that.

Since then, Jancek has proven himself at Tennessee. What has Mahoney or Azzani proven with the production of their units?
