The situation got out of hand, I'll agree. But at the same time, basic manners is dying out quickly. I've worked around enough college age kids in recent memory to see exactly how condescending and spoiled many are.

Yeah it use to be the persons fault when they couldn't start on a sports team....made grades....got the in trouble..... Now we blame the coach, teacher, police and any one else we can.

The right thing to do was to leave the kid alone. Tell him to move, if he don't, so be it. It's his life, if he's indeed dumb enough to get hit by a bus.

The incorrect thing to do is just what happened. Cops escalating something to the point of violence, as per usual.

If you've got a link proving the kids age, I suggest you post it up.

I can't get a link to post with my phone but it is in the Latimes.....what do you think will happen to the cop when the bus drivers call headquarters and tells them they can't complete their route bc of people being in the way.

Perhaps he would if a bus was pulling in. I don't know of many people willing to be ran over by a bus.

Cop was likely posted there to generate revenue, period.

I have no idea.... It drives me insane though....my son plays football and a mom on the team complains about her son being treated unfairly....the kid has no talent... Won't listen... Sits down in the middle of the field and throws tantrums...my son would pay the price when he got home but she blames the coaches instead.

The cops at bus stops are usually directing traffic and pedestrians....they aren't there to write tickets generally speaking.

You remember that video I posted a few days ago where the cops were harassing a guy for jaywalking/not using the crosswalk at the intersection... and then they proceeded to jaywalk to their cop cars across the street?

I got a ticket for sawing off a branch that sagged into the street today. That mother****er always clotheslines my truck. I was performing a public service.

What was the actual ticket for? Surely there's a state law that protects you in that situation. In TN, anything that crosses your property line or falls in your yard is your responsibility, so if a neighbor has a huge tree with branches on your side, you can trim them.

Trees are a funny thing. Permits for this, permits for that.

My buddy owns a bunch of apartments in east Memphis. He had a huge oak tree cut down on his property and his neighbor sued him. The tree provided shade yo his home. It cost my buddy 4-5k.

Memphis is a weird place anyway. My wife deals with their codes people frequently, I had to take her .380 away.

I'm not going there. You said we shouldn't accept it, how do you intend to stop it? The usual method is to create a law. Then we are left with even more violence in the streets because the cops are to enforce yet another stupid law.
After all, you are speaking in collectivist terms by saying "WE shouldn't accept it as a society"

People are individuals, as long as they're not hurting anyone else, what's the problem?
