It wasn't what he said its that he wouldn't get out of the bus lane....its for everyone's safety involved from the kids...the bus drivers and anyone else involved....its why the post a cop there to ensure safety.....he did not jump the kid and start beating him when he said he fu.....he couldn't get the kid to let go of his baton and did a twisting maneuver which made him strike the kid in the face twice....the kid had no injuries and did not require treatment.
Are you sure we watched the same video?

So let me get this straight. If any of us assault a child we will be arrested and thrown under the jail and charged with child abuse and anything else they can drum up. Yet, if I put on a magic costume, otherwise known as a police uniform, I can do as I please. Nice principles.

The video started after the kid was sitting down if you look the kid has hands on the baton with the cop yelling to stop resisting me and that is when the kid got hit....I had to search to find the whole story online.

I've often seen videos of police beating someone senseless all the while shouting "stop resisting"

Question, why did the kid have ahold of the baton? Likely because he'd already been struck with it?

You can say that about any profession.....you are not allowed to do an appendectomy either but if you put on the magic uniform of a doctor you are legally able to do so.... A cop has much different responsibilities than an average citizen.

Now you are trying to make up your own version of events...... If there is evidence that something else occurred then judge it by that....I have not read a story where more went on from the victim or the police version....I do know the kid had no injuries.

Let's see, I'd voluntarily opt for the procedure. And, the dr wouldn't have the guns of government behind him. Terrible comparison.

The truth of the matter is that cop was offended by this kid who dared to question his authority. So he thought he'd teach him a lesson.

What should've happened in that video is the chicken **** people standing in the background should've beat that cop within an inch of his life. I don't care if you are on some kind of magic suit induced power trip, you do not assault a kid.

If you look at the video the kid has ahold of the baton because the cop is smashing it into his shins.

Don't you think it would have been wiser for the kid to get out of the bus lane....It doesn't seem like that hard as a concept seeing how I have to follow it every single time I pick up my kids at school

Do you honestly think he'd just stand there and be hit by an oncoming bus?
Doesn't change anything though. I find it horrendous that you think physical assault is a good measure to use in order to obtain compliance. On a kid no less.

On a serious note DTH, you've tended to be above the name calling. I thought you better than that.

What this does is yet another young black male growing up hating cops and the circle is complete.

There was no need for the level of force used here, no way. The cop got upset because the kid got an attitude with him. Big deal.

I have asked what you would you do differently but I don't feel that your answer of not enforcing anything is realistic

Not everything requires enforcement Beast.

Besides, last time I checked buses are still equipped with horns. Blow the horn if he's in the way.

Have you ever dropped kids off at school.....the cop is there to make it safe for everyone.....it's why they post one at this post....where do you want the cop to draw the line in what he is suppose to do to keep it running smooth?

It seems to be he wasn't fond of cops to begin with.

Seems I've heard that before, cops are there to make it safe for everyone. Yeah, ok.

You know, I don't fear cops, I don't fear politicians, nor, do I fear your average criminal. I fear people just like you. It's through you, that they accomplish all of this. Just stand by and watch a 12 year old boy be assaulted. You even went so far as approving of the assault. Unreal...

Care to venture a guess as to why?

Probably the same way most people learn bad habits like telling people to **** off...

At home.

The situation got out of hand, I'll agree. But at the same time, basic manners is dying out quickly. I've worked around enough college age kids in recent memory to see exactly how condescending and spoiled many are.

They very well may be spoiled. Bad manners isn't against the law, yet.

See here is the issue....you are not interested in the truth....what was the right thing to do and how it could have been handled differently.....the kid was 16 not 12.....pretty soon he will be a toddler that a group of cops beat unconscious.
