Damn it's been an ugly 6 yrs. I wish some of these younger guys on VN would've been around through the late 80s thru 2007 or so. I think those of us who've been around to see us on top and watch other programs rise and fall and rise again know just how cyclical college football is. And based on history once we are back, we will stay for a good while. And we are on the way. Hell I thought the sky was falling when Joey Matthews and AJ Suggs were battling it out at QB and the Gators beat us last second. Then came Lafayette game and Clausen came in and threw a bomb on the money for a TD and took over. That's kindve how I feel right now. The clouds are breaking.

SECN can shove it. All records are not created equal. CBJ has played a top 20 power 5 OOC game every year. Dooley had one year without a power 5 team and played a mediocre NC State in another. CBJ would have two years of bowl games with that, and he also has a top 10 SEC win.

Not saying the coaching has been stellar, but that is a bunch of bunk, not even discussing the roster turnover.

Some talk on 247 about Gaulden playing safety next year alongside TK.

With our JuCo commit, EMan, and Martin next year I still don't see any of those guys as nickels. But someone mentioned Sutton's pre-pharmacy major. I don't know but one might assume his degree is important to him... The credits obviously never vanish so i would say if he's 1st round grade no doubt he should go. But say he gets a 2nd round grade?

I was in school that year and at that UF game. At half time, I couldn't believe that we had a chance to beat UF with AJ Suggs at QB. Henry was running crazy.

Yep, us old guys know these things are cyclical but I think our downswing has been unusually due to the terrible hiring decisions by the AD. With a university with the tradition and history that UT has, no way we should be down for going on 10 years. We are on an upward swing but we are still no where near where we should be. I mean as good as Butch has been, he's still one game under .500 during his time here.

I agree. But, I think to really be a national Championship contender you have to have excellent classes for 6 years. Our starters for the most part are young but our backups are pups. It'll be 2-3 more years before we are a top 10 team provided Butch keeps the recruiting machine rolling.

I'm not so sure this class will be as high powered as the last couple classes. We are in on some great recruits, but we need to win and show we can win.
