This is a recent tweet? She better be working with the trainer to stretch and strengthen the muscles in her legs.

Well, we can only hope that it is not too serious. I'm surprised that she's got it given that she didn't play last year. I know she practiced--but I assume even that was somewhat limited as she wouldn't have been involved in certain drills for starting/active players. A bit worrisome. It's always something--unbelievable.

4 day ago she tweeted "If I could get rid of one thing on my body it would be patellar tendinitis. Who has a cure"

She hasn't played college basketball in 17 months and this is still a problem? Or is it a new problem? I'm not a doctor but the only ways I know of to alleviate the symptoms are to 1-don't do whatever causes the tendonitis, i.e., running and jumping, 2-stretching and muscle exercises to properly distribute the load away from the patella, 3-ice before and after, and 4-pain medication such as ibuprofen.

shin splints, patellar tendinitis what's the difference. Neither one sounds promising. We've got too much riding on her being able to play and paly well.

This injury bug has been killing us the past 4/5 years. I'm very concerned because we haven't had the best of luck in that category. Hopefully she will be okay.

...Hopefully she will be okay.

Again, I'm no doctor, but isn't any kind of tendonitis primarily the result of overuse of the tendon in question? And isn't the use of this tendon only going to increase with the onset of basketball season? Wow.

Yea I would think so and the only things that help are getting shots, resting, icing it, and if it gets bad then surgery. I'm trying to be optimistic.

If she's not 100% and it'll only get worse as the season progresses, I would look into a redshirt year for Diamond. Although we all would loveeeee to see her get out there and play, I would rather have her 100% healthy!

I've had tendinitis in my knee, elbow, shoulder, feet, and thumb. Nothing helped cure it. Not shots, not anti-inflammatories, not stretching, not exercises, the only thing that helped was about 12 months.

I agree. I had it in my thumb and it took forever to heal and it still isn't fully healed. I just pray she's able to perform at a high level.

Patellar tendinitis is extremely painful. It can be tough just to walk some days. This is not good for our team. We just need an injury free team to do some damage this year.

I like Lindys for us but she has ND too low and some others are well mind boggling. ND should be ahead of SC.

Without Loyd, I don't see ND in the Top 5 this year. I would put UCONN, TENN, SC, DUKE and BAY all ahead of them, maybe even OSU.

4 day ago she tweeted "If I could get rid of one thing on my body it would be patellar tendinitis. Who has a cure"

Interesting. Holly was widely quoted as saying that the problem that kept DD from playing in Italy was "shin splints." And DD was in a walking boot and didn't play in the WUG for "an ankle injury."

It would be nice if this was clarified just a bit.

Going on history. ND always does better than we think. MM is a good coach and she is definitely better than Staley. She has under achieved in my opinion.

She is a pretty good coach but it's about time that she starts winning some championships.

OKAY OP I love the Tennessee Lady Vols but when you put Top 25 in the headline 20 days before kick off of probably the most anticipated season in a while, it's disappointing to be about Women's CB.

Good grief charlie brown just jerk the ball away again!

:thud:

Tennesseeduke

why would you think that ? this is the Ladys Forum and i for one can't wait till the opening tip off :)
