I'm not worried about the secondary just yet. Mosley had a bad game but Matt had a very good game. Mosley isn't chopped liver he had good games last year.

Moseley did look bad, but he was playing man-to-man and kept expecting help from the safety and didn't get it. Having TKJr back there helps immensely. But Moseley better be ready to get picked on again this week. Okla will try to capitalize on the same strategy, avoiding Sutton and throwing deep against Moseley.

As soon as TKJR came in the defense settled down. Having Martinez back will help even more

Yep. Everybody loves Evan Berry and he's a great asset, but he was struggling on Saturday. Hope they can work with him to fix those issues, so we have quality depth at safety. He's already lighting it up on special teams.

Didn't he practice some at nickel? His speed would give us good depth at safety if he can work on his alignment and reads. He has the talent, IMO; just needs more experience.

Charlie Strong is a good HC...at Louisville. Once he put the big boy pants on it got dicey.

To be fair to Strong, I think it has more to do with the situation when he arrived. Given time, I think he will be a successful coach. Plus, I like his attitude.

I would guess he thinks we used his grades as an excuse to make room for another recruit. A mistake no doubt at this point by the staff but you can win them all for sure.

SIAP, but it's not as clear as you make it seem. Getting into UT was not going to be as easy as it was to get into OU. Point is that he was forced to go to OU after getting into UT was doubtful. IIRC, the coaches were very forthcoming with him and it was an amicable split.

To me, Bynum looked better last year than Jumper did on Saturday. I try to trust the coaching staff's evaluations (like my opinion matters ) but some of their decisions are head scratchers to me.

I guess we could compare opening game starts in their sophomore years...but we couldn't...but we couldn't. :sad:

Yep - you can go with wannabes with the mid and lower tier and sometimes it works out. You usually can win enough to keep them happy while you make staff adjustments and find the right guys. That dog won't hunt at a place like Texas. It didn't for Fulmer at UT with the Clawface and he had an NC.

On the Jumper, DK, Bynum issue - it will work out soon enough. Talent rises to the top. We all know the answer is DK. I just hope they will adjust and use the other LBs they have that have been in the system for over a year in place of a Mike if DK isn't ready. Let's get McDowell, Bryant and Bates out there.
