Temple sacked Hackenberg (Sackenberg?) on a 2-man rush last night. 10 sacks on the day.

Worst part? ... BOTH guys could have sacked him.

@TheJoeMarino: To sum up #Vols film, UT fans should be excited. Team=LOADED! Offensive skill players=outstanding. Run d/pass rush=solid. MUST sure up DB's.

For starters I'd say you take away Dobbs touchdown run and maybe another score because one scoring drive Dobbs converted 3 third downs on keepers.

45-30 at worst?

Well you also take into account that the oline was a lot worse and wasn't getting any push early in the year. No Kamara. So lots of freshman Hurd and Lane. We would have passed more for sure... But also Worley would have probably gotten sacked at least 3 or 4 times (possibly more), killing some drives. I don't know. Our best defense in that game was a relentless offense that put up points whenever they wanted and played keep away. Could we really have been able to trust Worley to continually put together that many successful drives and not have any turnovers?

Also we would have had AJ in the middle wreaking havoc on D, so it goes both ways. I think our defense misses him badly. Kirkland needs to grow up fast.

That game was stressful. I'm not convinced our offense was humming well enough to win a shoot out like that a year ago.

I think Bowling Green might have beaten us last year. They would have probably at the very least taken us down to the wire. They were a lot more innovative and explosive offensively than Utah State for sure.

You never know. Just something to think about. Overall I think we have a much better team right now that we did last year. Our trajectory as a program is headed straight up.

Holy cow. Guys. We are 3-34 against all ranked teams since Phil Fulmers last year in 2008.

Guess who ALL those three wins were against?

South Carolina.

You have to go back to 2007 (#12 UGA) to find the last win against a ranked team not named South Carolina.

10-47 against ranked teams since 2005. 4 of those wins were South Carolina.

I love this thread. Only part of this website that doesn't go to **** with unwanted opinions of how to beat Oklahoma. Guess that's what makes the season interesting though.

Jesus Christ.

Did you just now realize we've been terrible for awhile now?

I'm actually just being an *******. It is a fairly interesting stat. Just predictable coming from you.

I feel like sometimes you just scour the internet looking for something negative to post here.

I literally try to do the exact opposite when I watch our games. It's not that I don't see or notice the negative stuff, it's that I make a conscious choice not to focus on it. There are plenty of positive things going on at TN, especially lately. I guess that's why I get so frustrated by your posts sometimes. But to each his own. Do your thing dude.

I get why people don't like me. I'm a despicable person, very negative all the time in everything I do. I actually hate myself for it but it's how I've been since I can remember. I'm too stubborn to change which is horrible I know. I'm sorry.

We beat Wisconsin who was ranked at the end of 2007 which also coincidentally was the last time we won as a ranked team before Saturday

You're good people Cat. You didn't say anything that every football analyst is going to be saying before the OU game.

A little heavy on the self loathing here.

I get the negative tailspin that life can take you on at times. I've been there. It doesn't sound like you enjoy where you are with that.

Move forward though man. Life is full steam ahead. Nobody is going to fix that kind of mindset for you but you. Don't settle for it. Get 1% better every day at something. Music, weight lifting, growing a beard, learning a sport... Lots of options out there. The one thing you can't afford to do is wallow in neutral, stuck in your own self hate fueled stubbornness.

Read Inky Johnson's book, learn what all the fuss is about Jesus. Look at the people who are already who you'd like to be and do what they do.

Take my advice or leave it. But I don't think many people on here truly hate or despise you. There are tons of posters worse than you.

Also you should listen to Don't Worry Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin and focus on the bass line. Have a good night brother.

Yeah, you're hardly the only one with some considerable PDSD. I've completely redded out on here a few times to my considerable embarrassment. It happens.

You're burned by all the losses. But the best cure for that is wins, and they're coming.

Rewatched the first half last night. Take away Jennings holding penalty, the lackadaisical defense on 4th and 3rd from BGSU's 10 yard line (a scenario we are unlikely to face again), and Barnett's roughing the passer penalty on something like 3rd and 15, and the game was a complete blowout of epic proportions. We dominated them on defense whenever we we wanted to or felt like we needed to.

I'm not worried at all by that game. A lot of good teachable moments. It was close for a period because we got a little sloppy and probably believed our own hype, plus those guys had a sneaky good QB and receiving corps for a MAC team.

This game on Saturday will be an epic four quarter affair. Can't wait!
