The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Disagree entirely. The only pistol that comes close to the AR in terms of customization is the 1911.

Nothing against Glock.

Let's see, there's at least a dozen different manufacturers for every part of a Glock: Grips, slides, springs, connectors, guide rods, triggers, barrels, slide release, mag release, magazines, mag internals, sights, stippling, lasers, lights, etc. Did I leave anything out?

Wilson Combat makes nice barrels for Glocks.

And how many custom features are available for a 1911? More or less than Glock?

It never fails. If you pick on Glock, the angry masses come out of the woodwork to defend their honor.

"But, but, but, it's a Glock!"

Almost worse than AK owners :)

Both are highly customizable. There are many parts readily available for just about the entire gun.

Most mainstream pistols out there have at least one company dedicated to providing aftermarket parts of some sort or other. Glock is no different in that regard.

But when it comes to the vast assortment of aftermarket items, the 1911 reigns king of that department. It easily is the AR of the pistol world when it comes down to customization.

LOL! I find that true of Glock and 1911 fanboys alike. Usually because most of the arguments against either gun are ridiculous.

That's just silly to equate a Glock with the masses in regard to aftermarket parts.

1911 owners are the worst in that regard honestly. When the Army announced it was looking for a new pistol, most 1911 fanboys screamed to anyone that would listen that we needed to go back to the tried and true and adopt the 1911 again.

Sometimes I will, sometimes I don't. I like having the option. I use the raven concealment phantom holsters. I have a ton of them and they are hands down the best kydex option out there.

Raven Concealment Systems

Also recommend this belt, I've been wearing mine for a few months now and it's great.

In Stock : Ares Gear

Link won't work for some reason. Cheers

Bought one of these for my Sig p229 on your recommendation.

Just wondering if you or anyone else here are familiar with their appendix carry option and what that's like.

Appendix carry is an acquired taste. It takes some getting used to, It's not for everybody.

It would be fine if you could stand up all day, but driving is impossible with appendix carry. In my opinion.

I'm sure you'll be well pleased with your holster.

that's big money

Yep, you could buy two Les Baer's for the price of one WC. The custom 1911 market has gotten beyond stupid. $5000 for a pistol? Nah, I'll pass.

Edit.
You could actually buy a Les Baer and some ammo, as well as sign up for a training class at thunder ranch or gunsite and learn how to run the gun, all for the price of that one overpriced Wilson. Just saying....
