Someone up there in Knox closer to the situationplease tell me if this is true. With all the hoax stuff like the Manning's contract with the Broncos cancelled hoax recently I am wondering if this is a hoax or real.

I'd skip her and go directly to the Chancellor's and President's offices myself. You honestly think a bunch of hateful mail will change her mind on the subject? It will only reinforce the decisions she made concerning the matter.

Exceptional point on the entire matter. But what's more concerning is the frequency of the lunacy that keeps happening and not the specific locations. I wouldn't have expected it to happen at UT honestly, but like any institution of higher learning it's not immune to such actions.

There certainly is an ongoing culture shift in the higher learning facilities in this nation. But the absurdness seems to have sped up in recent memory. As well as reaching into the higher levels of the individual universities.

How much effort and pain do trans individuals go through to change their external appearance to reflect how they feel inside. I can't imagine that they would be happy to just be called a neutral pronoun.

I just graduated from UT in May and this doesn't surprise me one bit. I was an older student (32 next month) returning to finish what I started and I felt like they had lost their damned minds down there. craziness.

I get chastised by B'Ham, I listen. I get berated by VP, I chuckle and see how pissed off I can make him. The real challenge is how long he goes before he includes your family.

Honestly, I'm not sure sending anything to either one of them will do much. They probably approve of this nonsense considering this "lady" was hired to represent the LBGT community. Staff | Pride Center

This happens because of the bloated budgets the institutions are allowed. What an effing travesty that a center exists at UT.

I will support the rights of anyone whether straight, gay, trans or whatever, but some things are just stupid and this is one of them. The person pushing this out there should be fired on the spot. It's easy to see why they wanted to get rid of "Lady" in the Lady Vols logo when they have this mindset. Somebody needs a reality check and real quick. Send them packing. They are too stupid to run something like the University of Tennessee.

It's kinda hard to believe that this is the same school my wife and I graduated from 15yrs ago. I'd expect this at Cal but Knoxville? A previous poster referenced this culture shift as what's really behind the Lady Vol name change. I'm think inclined to agree him/her.

The culture police have succeeded in many areas, however, I suspect that this attempt to stop people from calling a duck a duck will ultimately fail. It's simply a bridge too far.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm not sure I want my kids indoctrinated with this crap. :no:

Unfortunately some of it is already there. My son is 12 now but when he was in kindergarten he was given a "D" (disrespectful) for playing soldier with his friend at recess. They were pointing their fingers like guns and making "bang" sounds. This is in Murfreesboro!

I say this only partly in jest but the left has been like the Borg with their rapid assimilation of the US educational apparatus. The fact that they can pull these stunts in solidly red states with minimal blowback only demonstrates how absolute their control has become.
