Yeah isn't he though? When the history is written, I think it will show that that p.o.s. was as big a detriment to the country as Obola hisself. Next time I am in Vegas I will be sure to thank a local for their contribution to the destruction of the country. :aggressive:

That is why I get worked up about it. Trump is proving just how big of a joke the party and American politics are. Rand Paul is John Adams. Who cares if he doesn't get along with people? Who cares if he isn't your ideal candidate? He has real ideas. He is a real statesman and a policy wonk.

I wouldn't compare anybody else in the field to a founder. Not even to founders I didn't like, like Alexander Hamilton. Even though he was wrong on nearly everything, IMO, he still had more quality than all of these guys.

I read his budget all 100+ pages and can tell you, I'm not impressed. More of a PR piece than a budget, cut this and cut that. It was, to me, a childish attempt at gaining recognition without sustenance and understanding. I can see why he isn't taken seriously.

Just a couple of examples of what I find troubling.

His tax proposal is a sham, his is trying to pass off a "flat tax" with deductions, he fixes nothing as more politicians will get more deductions and such included.

His cuts to NASA are asinine, he plans on cutting 25% of NASAs budget because Obama changed their mission and we have private companies who can do the job. Well Mr. Paul, give them a dam real mission reform them, give them a mission and the funds to accomplish it. Shortsightedness at it's best.

IDK if you realize it, but everyone else does...you are trying so hard to not like him. You're worried about NASA and some possible loopholes?

Let's try this...with current budgets and tax code in mind, how is this budget proposal a sham? You are saying it is worse than the status quo?

I'm not trying to dislike him. I don't dislike him, I think he is unqualified, after reading his proposed budget I wouldn't vote for him as a Senator. It took me awhile to read and reread several parts, that's why it took me until this morning to give my opinion.

Read into his tax plan without your fanboy glasses on, it's a joke that in the end will not be much different that what we have now.

Yes, I do care about NASA, we are giving up space to China and Russia and we will pay for it.

His plan to scale back the military to almost a purely defensive force is shortsighted and shows he really doesn't have a grasp on what's going on.

Hey look, like him all you want, I read what you posted and it convinced me he isn't ready to be POTUS. Apparently I'm not the only one who believes this, there is no grand conspiracy against RP, he's just not POTUS material, right now. Of course that's just my and most people's opinion.

Nothing of substance other than his signature shiite law, however. And no, I didn't read all 1000 of those he passed. Like the old saw goes, you can build a thousand bridges, but suck one c*ck and you will never be remembered as a great engineer. Oboma will never be an engineer even if the 1000 are good laws.

Well, here we are with our disconnect again.

Executives are not supposed to write or sponsor legislation. It's the executive branch. Separation of powers. Checks and balances. Constitution.

Legislators are supposed to write legislation. We don't want more presidential legislation. We want government officials to stick to their roles.

Paul is just following the constitution. His outline is a proposal or a framework for congress and America to work off. He is is saying he is looking for something along these lines, now go write and pass a budget.

That's the way it's supposed to work.

Disconnect is correct. What you posted is what he proposed for 2014 while a SENATOR not as a POTUS candidate.

My apologies. The article I linked to is talking about how serious Rand would be about getting the strict budget he proposes and they reference his 2014 bill.

Either you are a fiscal, small government conservative and you choose Rand Paul or you are a RINO looking to rattle shields in the name of God and country.

You don't like me and Rand because we make you face that truth.
