Their roster was actually pretty competitive during the Franklin era. It wasn't unlike Missouri's rosters the past two seasons, minus the elite DL. They had RS SRs all over the place who weren't great athletes but were experienced and developed. They also had NFL talent like Stacy, Matthews, Ladler, Johnson, Hal, Krause, Woestmann, Seymour, Spear, etc. Jordan Rodgers and Carta-Samuels were competent QBs as well.

All of those guys are gone and the cupboard is completely empty and in fact getting worse. Scheu is their only standout player right now and he's hobbled.

If Mason stays another year, their roster will be so far behind other SEC teams that they may not get a conference win for 3-4 seasons.

they have about 5-6 decent defensive players.A couple of those are seniors ( Herring, Azubike). Theres also two senior safeties. The others weatherly, sims, mcGaster and Butler are juniors. But there is just such a massive drop off right now if any of them get dinged. They have nothing on the DL. I mean nothing at all. The offensive talent is just garbage. Lose Pulley and Bernstein after this season. scheu is a senior too. I mean its looking bad. if they keep recruiting like garbage for the next 2 classes its gonna be RIP Vandy. But yeh you are correct. Their fans dont understand this at all. They keep saying "this is the most talent we have had at VU ever."

Fun fact....

Watching 1996 Tennessee vs Alabama game. At the bottom of the screen, showed score of 1996 Vandy-South Carolina game....Vandy lost 27-0, had 5 turnovers, 82 total yards. I lulz'd.

We might see a couple of similar Vandy games this year with those type of results.

The implosion of their "fan base" after that game was classic.

But the "fan" tossing his t-shirt and hat during the Ole Miss game was epic. And truly symbolic of their so called fan base.

I picture vandy as the mud dogs

They have about the same number of fans at there games ! I can also see a fan yelling o no we suck agian last year

Bored and ready for football season, I'm sitting here watching the SC/Vandy game from last season. Listening to Brent Musburger talk up Vandy's coaching staff like they're the next great thing in football is extremely comical.

Commentators that didn't pander would be hilarious. I would love to see a couple games where those guys actually called it like they saw it.

I was thinking in general too. For example, guffaws of laughter at Jameis Winstons comedy of turnovers in their playoff loss.

How they are now I would rather mute the tv and have the radio announce it if it weren't for some time delays.
