Preston Williams test score flagged by NCAA

Except he doesn't want to redshirt... He's been vocal about that. How the coaches manage that will be a challenge.

I don't know who "everyone" is, but there is absolutely no way anyone can make that statement given he has never went up against any college defense either our own In a practice or someone else in a game. He has only played against HS competition. He may be as talented or better, but that doesn't equal a better player in any stretch. To say he will be gone in 3 years regardless at this point is foolish.

Jayson Swain is one of the "everyone". Has said more than once that, in his opinion, PWill will be the best wr on the roster the minute he suits up. Tifwiw.

Redshirt him and let him get healthy:good!:

What if he's 100%, ready to go say week 4....another 6+ weeks from now? I say get him healthy, get him 100%, and if he's ready to go, even if it's only for the second half of the season, run him out there.

When did he tear his acl? I think it was around October, right? Anyone know the surgery date? He should be 90% by September

Can someone enlighten me on the "brad Mathews" incident.

Thx in advance.

Fox intern "reported" on their site that Marquez North had "a very serious leg injury" and "is feared lost for the season". Caused implosion on here and GL Dunlap and I are no longer exchanging Christmas cards.

Or me. :shaking2:

I agree. The coaches aren't going to put him on the field until he's cleared to make cuts and is game ready. But a redshirt would only benefit him if he were planning to stay 5 years. And, I just don't see that happening. Even if he's not a 3 and done (I strongly think he will be), I just don't see anyway he isn't better than a 4 and done. If he can give our team an edge in the second half, then there's no reason to sit his talent. Like another poster said, he wants to and expects to play this year.

You know what else he doesn't want? Another torn ACL or another injury. He needs to get over that mindset and do what's best for the team. If that's play, great. If not, take the RS, come back better the next year, and deal with it.

Just not true. Everyone rehabs at a different pace. This 12 month narrative is misleading. He isn't cutting yet. I wouldn't say he should be 90% in two weeks.

the problem with that is let's say he is cleared to practice in October. With only 20 hours of coaching players and having to prepare each week for games, there is no time for staff / players to work with Williams to integrate him into the offense or get him game ready. It takes lots of reps to get timing down and for him to learn the routes.

They could let him return kicks or have one or two plays a game he could execute. but that would be about it until bowl practice when they have a lot more time. All this time he is currently missing is very costly to learning what he needs to know.

So the question they have to answer, is it more valuable to redshirt him or use him once or twice a game this year?

There is no guarantee right now he will be good enough to go pro in 3 years. Seen lot come through here as 5 stars that never made it to NFL and many who never produced here. Can find lots at other schools also.
