Planned Parenthood Selling Human Body Parts

As unpleasant the physical act is of harvesting the tissue - at least it is being used for the good of mankind.

Logically, we should be outraged that these dead fetuses are being chucked in the garbage instead of being used for medical advancement.

Science. Bitc*es.

Except the company that did use it said they would stop because adult stem cells are better.

Exactly... lets be outraged that dead fetuses are being thrown in the garbage, not that the fetuses are dead because we took their lives.

That logic does not compute.

Your wife just delivers your baby and it is dying. In the next room lies a stillborn corpse. Doctors say that your baby will definitely die if it does not receive an organ transplant. The stillborn is a match. If the organs are harvested and transplanted into your baby, the odds of your baby living are 1 and 10.

I imagine most parents in said situation would opt for organ harvesting and transplant, even if it was against the wishes of the woman who just delivered the stillborn yet completely legal. Further, I imagine that many would willingly pay for the organs.

If not, I feel sorry for the kids of the parents that care more about some dead corpse than about their own living child.

Bravo. :clapping:

This folks is how one properly conflates the use of fetal tissue in medical research with the arbitrary morality of abortion. I won't even get started on your inference that the baby's are being murdered specifically to harvest the tissue.

Get a grip on your feels before posting.

If fetal tissue is so valuable for research, shouldn't research firms inseminate females who are willing to host a fetus but have no interest in being a mother. That way there is no gray area of buying tissue/offsetting storage and shipping costs?

Researchers could also expose the host - mother to all sorts of compounds, drugs, toxins. Large enough sample sizes could lead to better prenatal recommendations.

The same individuals that push to outlaw abortion have made surrogacy law a minefield.

This could be an exciting era for research. Unemcumbered by medical ethics, we aren't dealing with a human life, imagine the information gleaned from:
clipping the limb of a developing fetus. What if we could harness the mysterious forces behind regeneration and end the need for prosthetic limbs?

We could cool the fetus down and prevent oxygenation of the blood to see how long under certain circumstances the brain be deprived of oxygen before damaged.

High risk medicine could be tested on fetuses to determine efficacy.

imagine cloning an organ and putting the organ "seed" into the fetus to develop, in a lees than a year the developed organ could be harvested and transplanted to the patient who had their dna cloned. Perfect match, no rejection.

You got a nice suit?

I think you should take that onto shark tank. Cuban seems like he'd throw some dough at an idea like that.

I'm not a Mavericks fan either but if his money is green.... ya know?

Can you imagine taking orders from Cuban? No thanks.

Plus, I find the idea immoral since i believe a fetus is a baby human.

On PBS, NOVA maybe, i saw a segment where genes from a spider were spliced into a goat's dna. The dna controlled protein production for spider silk. The goat's milk contained spider silk.

What if essential proteins could be spliced in to fetal dna so that they produce something magnificent and tremendously beneficial to humanity?

The silence from the demoncrats speaks volumes

More of a reflection of the game of politics and the knowledge that the vast amount of the voting populous, on both sides of the aisle, are gravely moronic and easily swayed by sensationalism without critical thought.

The theoretical exercise of a baby in one room needing an organ and a stillborn tissue mass in another with a suitable organ is intriguing. When we were having out first baby 17 years ago, the Neonatalogists were performing successful surgery in utero for high risk health issues. Imagine what miracles they can do today?

If baby A needs an organ, and fetus B's host mother wants to donate an organ. Fetus B can be aborted, the organ harvested and maybe even transplanted in utero to fetus A. No stillborn situation to cause an ethical conundrum (for some).

Abortion is legal. Acceptable reasons to abort include:
-rape
-incest
-risk (to mother)
-financial burden.

Could finacial gain become an acceptable reason in the future?
